Welcome!InMatthew5:6,Jesussays,

“Blessedarethosewhohungerandthirstforrighteousness,fortheywillbefilled”

This verse really stood out for me whilst I was preparing for CaféChurch thismonth; and ithas challengedmetothinkmoreaboutmydesiretoseetheKingdombeingbuilt.

JesusiscallingustohungerandthirstfortheKingdom;nottojustbealittle peckish. I think it’s all too easy for us to fall into the trap ofthinking, “I don’t like that theworld isn’t right, but I’ll just wait forJesustoreturn,he’llsortitout!”.Butthat’snotwhatGodwantsustodo.Hedoesn’twantus tobepeckish, hewantsus tothirst, tostarveoverit.

WeneedtobepeoplewhohungerandthirstforGod’swilltobedone.Ifwe’rehungeringandthirsting,thenwe’regoingtobegettingonwithit,notjustwaitingfor‘dinnertime.’

JesuspicksuponthisideaofhungeringandthirstingforrighteousnessinJohn’sgospel...“Myfood,”saidJesus,“istodothewillofhimwhosentmeandtofinishhiswork.Doyounotsay,‘Fourmonthsmoreandthentheharvest’?Itellyou,openyoureyesandlookatthefields!Theyareripeforharvest.”(John4:34‐35).

SothechallengeI’vefeltGodgivingmeisthis:“whatareyougoingtodo about it?” The fields are ripe, sowhat are wegoing to doaboutbuilding theKingdomhere inCallington?HowcanwebepeoplewhohungerandthirsttoseeGod’sworkbeingdone?

Let’sserveHim,andbringintheharvest!

Thefeeling ofbeingcarried along by theLord through all yourprayershas been wonderful. The help and phone calls during Derrick’s stay inhospital and since has kept me going. We felt the funeral andthanksgivingservicewasoutstanding–arealuplifttotheLord’speopleandachallengetothosenottheLord’s.

Thestewarding, flowersanddeliciousfood, the cakessolovinglymadeand given, were all done with such understanding and love – just asDerrickwouldhavelikes. So,fromthebottomofmyheart,“Thankyou, oneandall.”

YouthWorkUpdateSoulSpacebrokeupfortwoweeksover Easter, and so there havebeen a few weeks without muchgoingon,butthat’snottosaythatnothinghasbeenhappening...

We have had some really goodevents, with both our first SoulSpace back and our latest CaféChurch both drawing a goodnumberofyoungpeople.

CaféChurchonthe25thAprilwasareally good time of fellowship forthe young people, where all thechurches in Callington are invitedalong. We had 13 young peopletherethismonth, and itwasreallyencouraging to see the youngpeople interacting well with eachother, and starting to sharecontactdetails.

Our aim has been to see CaféChurch provide a place for theyoung Christians in the town toencourage each other, and this iswhat seems tobehappening. Theyoungpeoplespendtimeinprayertogethertoo, andithasbeengreattosee and hear theyoung peopleprayingforeachother.

We have also been meeting ouraimofseeingSoulSpaceasa safeplace foryoungpeopletobe. Weare still reaching out into thecommunity, and it is good to seeyoung people continuing to bringtheirfriendsalongeachweek.

We are continuing to make plansfor the summer term, and weespecially hope to be able to getoutsideonoccasions.Wealsohopeto run through the SummerHolidays, as there will be youngpeople around during that time, andmanyof them stillwant tobeabletocometoSoulSpace.

Thank you to everyone who hasbeen praying and especially tothosewhohavedonatedcakesforCafé Church; they have beengreatlyappreciated!

PleasedocontinuetoprayforCaféChurch and Soul Space, especiallyas we now get into the summermonths, when hopefully we canget outside and do some moreexcitingactivitiesandgames.
