This was first parking of the year and was thought to be a small turnout as there were so many events going on in the Valley. It actually turned out to be a very active night with many more showing up than anticipated.
The parking was staffed by the following volunteers: Lion Jim Luper, Lion Jean Long, Lion Jeanne Laws, Lion Dennis Opdahl, Lion Lynn Reddekopp, Lion Wayne Agee, Lion Fred Schmidt, Lion Bob Beaubier, Lion Tom Martin, Lion William Long, Lion Jerry Kriegel, Lion Al Regan, Lion Jim Baylor and Barbara Reddekopp..
Lion Jerry Kriegel brought his large Bar-B-Que and cooked up both hot dogs and hamburgers after the parking.
Many of the folks at the event were leaving early as the temperature turned quite cold after the sun went down.

CLUB MEETING 4-26
The meeting was presided over by President, Lion Linda O’Dowd.. pledge led by Lion Dennis Opdahl and invocation given by Lion Wayne Agee.
There were 14 members present.
Immediately following dinner, the 50/50 drawing was held and Lion Jean Long won the chance to draw the Ace of Spades. She drew the King of Hearts. There are now only 18 cards left and the pot is at $629.50.
There were no minutes from the last meeting as it was the egg stuffing party.
There was no correspondence and Lion Tim Rivers gave a condensed treasurers report.
Lion Tom Martin gave an Easter Egg Hunt report, stating that he had saved some money this year. He also stated that Walmart had Easter baskets on sale at half price and do we want to buy for next year. The response was yes, which was approved by the club.
It was also discussed and approved to increase the number of prizes and eggs for next year.
Lion Jim Luper gave a parking report and informed the club that we were now getting a flat rate instead of a per car rate.
The change in dates of the Demo Derby was noted and because of this, White Cane Day will be May 7th at Rosauers.
Lion Fred Schmidt brought up volunteering for the NAIA and was asked to find out the particulars of it.
Alive after five was brought up and tabled for later.
Lion Jeanne Laws informed the club that there was going to be a “Relay For Life” yard sale at the club on June 4th and asked all member for donations.

CLUB MEETING 4-12
The Lewiston Lions Club's meeting on4-12-2011 started at 5:30 for this one meeting which was an Easter Egg Stuffing Party. Dinner was held up a half hour as all eggs except the prize eggs were stuffed and counted by 7PM. This quick time stuffing eggs was due to Lion Wayne Agee and Lion Tom Martins time spent on Monday setting up the tables to make the filling of the eggs easier. One of the comments was that the candy was of a better quality this year.
Lion Jeanne Laws led the pledge and Lion Jim Baylor gave the pledge. There were 16 members in attendance. This was followed by a great dinner from Wayback Café. Thanks Theresa
Very little business was con-ducted at this meeting. Lion Tom Martin gave a report on donations for the Easter Egg Hunt and Lion Tim Rivers gave a short treasurers report.
The clubhouse was cleaned up and everyone was gone by 8.

94th Lions Clubs International Convention
Seattle, Wash.
I n t e r n a t i o n a l Convention is coming up fast. It is the first week of July. For some Lions, this will be the chance of a life-time as taking time off from work to attend in a foreign country is out of the question. For others it is the added travel expense.
The time has passed for early registration, but you can still get the same low rate if you volunteer to help at the convention.
If you have not already signed up, you can do it on line at: http://www.lionsmd19.com/ And then click on the “Register ONLINE!” tab.
Here is a chance to meet Lions from other countries without leaving the state.
Hope to see everyone there.
The Easter bunny did a fantastic job this year of inter-acting with both kids and adults alike. The bunny was Lion Linda O’Dowd’s grand-son, Zak Bautista

EASTER EGG HUNT 2011
The 68th Easter Egg hunt was a mixed bag of success this year. The crowd was smaller than past years. There was still the enthusiasm of the children. There were a few tears, but thanks to Lion Tom who brought extra prize eggs, which were handed out to these children, most tears were alleviated.
Again this year, Lion Wayne Agee placed the Special Needs area closer to the handicap parking and then placed the prizes for the special kids right next to where they were hunting eggs. Lots of positive comments on this action.
The prize table was set up as last year, which was fenced off so that the kids could not go right up to the table and grab toys. This proved easier on both the Lions that helped with prizes and also for the kids. The smiles were worth all the extra toys and work in the prize area.
Again the club needs to send a special thanks to the manager of the Lewiston Dollar Store allowing us to put a toy collection box for our Easter Egg Hunt. If you are at the Dollar Tree store, please let them know how much we appreciate her effort.
The other community business that helped by donating this year were: Lewiston Rosauers, Bi Mart, Clarkston, Safeway, KMART and the A&B Market
Lion Jean Long will be sending out thank you letters to let these business know that we appreciate their help.
Also our thanks to Lee from KOZI for the live broadcast of the Easter Egg Hunt and to Ted Jensen of the CALAM SHRINERS for playing the Shiners Calliope.
The following Lions Club members helped with the hunt: Lion Jim Luper, Lion Jim Baylor, Lion Tom Martin, Lion Terry O'Hal-loran, Lion Denis Opdahl, Lion Wayne Agee, Lion Fred Schmidt, Lion Jeanne Laws, Lion Tim Rivers, Lion Linda O’Dowd, Lion Lynn Reddekopp. Lion Jerry Kriegel, Lion Jean Long, Lion Donna Konen & Lion Al Regan.
COMPUTER VIRUS SPREADING
I thought you would want to know about this e-mail virus. Even the most advanced programs from Norton or McAfee cannot take care of this one.
It appears to affect those who were born prior to 1960.
Symptoms:
1. Causes you to send the same e-mail twice. Done that!
2. Causes you to send a blank e-mail! Done that too!
3. Causes you to send e-mail to the wrong person. Yep!
4. Causes you to send it back to the person who sent it to you. Who me?
5 Causes you to forget to attach the attachment. Well darn!
6. Causes you to hit 'SEND' before you've finished. Oh no - not again!
7. Causes you to hit 'DELETE' instead of 'SEND.' and I just hate that!
8. Causes you to hit 'SEND' when you should 'DELETE.' Oh No!
IT IS CALLED THE 'C-NILE VIRUS.'
Now keep in mind that I don' know about any of this my-self but a lot of my friends have it .....

WORDS OF WISDOM!
" Life is like a jar of Jala-peno peppers What you

. CREATION
On the first day, God created the dog and said: . 'Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years.' . The dog said: 'That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?' . So God agreed. . On the second day, God created the monkey and said: . 'Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span.' . The monkey said: 'Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?' . And God agreed. . On the third day, God created the cow and said: . 'You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years.' . The cow said: 'That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?' . And God agreed again. . On the fourth day, God created man and said: . 'Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years.' . But man said: 'Only twenty years? Could you pos-sibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?' . 'Okay,' said God, 'You asked for it.' . So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone. . Life has now been explained to you. . There is no need to thank me for this valu-able information. I'm doing it as a public ser-vice.
AND THE DEVIL SHOWED UP
Did you hear about the church where the congregation was waiting for the service to start when a man rushed in and said. "Run, the devil is coming this way." Immediately everyone rushed out of the back door to get away from the devil, except for one man, who stayed sitting where he was.
When the devil arrived at the church, the devil was amazed to see him sitting there quite calmly and he said. "Why aren't you frightened of me, don't you know I could do terrible things to you?" The man looked up and smiled and said "No why should I be frightened of you, I have been married to your sister for twenty years."
