Nineteenth-century evangelist Dwight L. Moody was
walking down a New York City street, thinking about a
sentence hed heard: The world has yet to see what
God can do with a man who is wholly yielded to him.
Suddenly Moody felt a great yearning and cried out,
O God, make me that man! He was so overwhelmed with
Gods love and with heartfelt passion to reach lost people that he
had to stop at a friends house to rest.
In Birth of the Body, Ray Stedman says this is what Luke is talking about
when he describes the events of Pentecost. When John the Baptist predicted that Jesus
would come and baptize with the Holy Spirit and with re, he meant that there would be
an unexplainable passion about the church.
As we feel the Pentecost passion, lets yield ourselves wholly to God and see what he
does with us!

Martha Circle of the UMW in JarrettownMartha Circle has been a part
of Jarrettown UMW for manyyears. During the period that Iwas a member, which has beena long time, we always servedour church by setting andcleaning up The Lords Table oncommunion Sunday or anyother special day when
communion is celebrated, unless our Pastors sayotherwise. When a new member
joins our Circle we often haveher come in on a Saturday, inorder to learn the procedure, with one of our women who willbe setting up for Sunday.
This past year our Pastor,Robert Kirby, purchased a newset of Chalices, a pitcher, and atray for the altar to be used for
communion. Which by the waywas long overdue and we as aCircle were discussing it in our
May 2012 meeting. The real reason I am writing
this is to tell you what tookplace inside the Circle. We hada wonderful, delightful, lovingand devout Christian woman inour Circle, her name was
Dorothy Tong. Most of us knewher when she and Alfred cameto our church from Singapore. They raised two beautifuldaughters, Daphne and Dianna. They were a very active part ofJarrettown, and are nowmarried.
In recent years, after she and
Alfred returned from their stayin Japan, she was diagnosedwith cancer. She fought a greatbattle and without hesitationgave all the glory to Our Lordfor whatever she would enduregood or bad. All of us in theCircle were amazed at her faithand love for Jesus. After Dorothy went home to
be with the Lord, we decided topurchase the communion set
and have it dedicated in hermemory. So as most of youwitnessed on April 7th, 2013with Pastor Walt and MarthaCircle representatives at eachservice the communion set wasformally dedicated.
