Needless to say, the month of April was a very emotional time

for our club, the loss of two of our most beloved members Mary

Nell and Dwayne has left such an emptiness in our hearts,

however, the month ended with a bang!!

Victory Junction is such an amazing place, and those that were

able to see that for the first time will tell you that. Our little

excursion to North Carolina was filled with joy, happiness,

excitement, plenty of food, and yes, some tears were shed, and

that was just on the trip over there. Well, not really! Our most sincere

thanks and gratitude to Ken Solomon for driving us there and back, I

believe, he enjoyed it also. We began our stops at the Ray Everham

Museum, and guess who was there, Ray, himself. He was a joy to meet

and so personable. He even signed a few autographs for us. The

Darryl’s in Greensboro will never be same after having our crew there,

the food was mighty good. Then came the stop at Victory Junction,

where 125 bears are now available for the campers to enjoy. CEO, Chad

A. Coltrane [second from left], was our tour guide for the day, only been

on the job for 3 months, but the way he spoke and all of his passion made

it seem he had been there for years. He was a bevy of information and was truly thankful for what we have

accomplished. Oh yea, we also got to meet Austin Petty ,Kyle and Patty’s son [ picture on left in plaid shirt],

who was truly thankful too, and also gave us some photo ops with him. I am truly amazed of the workings of

this camp and what joy it must bring to all that attend. Of course, I could just ask Brooklyn Jade, she could

tell me about her recent trip as a camper to Victory Junction. One great time was had by all that attended and

it was truly heartwarming of all the love that is given to each and every child that attends. We ended that

little excursion at the Petty Museum, where we were granted our personal tour with our good buddy, Tony

Hancock, leading the way. Thanks Tony, it was really appreciated !! Make your plans for 2016 !

On Wednesday, we went to JR Motorsports, where I think Theresa bought one of everything in the store,

heheheheh!!!! They were loading up the haulers for Talladega, was great to see them in action in preparing

the haulers for the race. Those things were huge!!

Then it was off to Penske Racing we went, it is hard

to fathom the process that it takes to build and get

these cars ready to race. Amazing is all I can say.

One last thing, I am so glad that Gwen Porterfield

went on this trip with us, just to see her smile made

my day. We will always have our precious memories

of Dwayne and Mary Nell.

Much love and happiness to all of you!

President’s Letter—May 2015 by Don McGinnis

Spring is here, and Cruise-in Season has arrived. Our first Cruise-in was a

good one, the weather was extra nice. Just a great evening to get the old cars

out. It was good to see the old familiar faces, their cars plus several new

ones, that really looked sharp. Every year seems to bring more classic auto’s

which is good for our hobby. The Car shows have started, I think there is at

least one every week through Oct. We have plenty of shows to pick and

choose. I do hope everyone supports and participates in the club activities

and sponsored shows.

Butch has a few weeks open for trailer attendees. Make sure you sign up to

help work the trailer this cruise-in season. Our Fun Run trip to Victory Junc-

tion in Randleman N.C. was a huge success again this year. So sorry I was

not able to make the trip, I just have to get this new knee healed up so I Can

participate in other club activities this summer.

The Winter Expo Show committee had a meeting earlier this month, plans

are for this years show in Jan. to be much greater than last year with the ad-

dition of a huge swap meet to be held in the adjoining building.

Remember next month is our annual club election of officers. In June nomi-

nations will be made from the floor. If you are interested or know someone

who is, start campaigning. It has been a pleasure being your President these

last two years. I can’t think every member enough for your support, but it is

time for me to step down. New officers with new ideas will be welcome. I

will help the club in any way I can as we continue to be a vital part in this

community. We have helped a lot of charities, made a lot of kids happy at

Christmas and most of all we had a lot of fun making all this happen.

B u t c h G r o o m s -

Greetings HCCC!

Can you imagine how busy a 3 legged cat can be with diarrhea? Well, that’s me!! But this is what

we love.!!!! CRUZ N TIME IN TENNESSEE !!!

Just enjoyed the best fun run ever with my two wives, Lisa and Gwen, to Victory Junction! Also, a

bunch of my best HCCC friends tagged along too! It will be hard to ever top this annual trip. Please

make plans to attend our next one in 2016. Thanks to Ken Solomon for driving and providing the bus! Honorary member there for sure! We should have a special report and guest speaker at the

May 21st meeting to give us more insight on what value Victory Junction has.

Next show coming us up May 16th at Fountain Plaza with the FOP; I am scheduled to be in the dunk

tank at 12:30 pm. Here’s your chance! Also, May 15th, there will be a softball game at Frank Lori-

no Park at 6pm between the Morristown Policemen and the Sheriff’s Department. This will be a laugher. We will try to cruise over to the Strawberry Festival for a mini cruise in during the show.

Next in line is Otis’s Memory Lane on May 23rd, David Sawyer wants a HCCC cruise that morning

up there and involves a biscuit, I think. Check with David!

Thanks to all that helped and attended the Downtown show on May 2nd. It turned out to be a good

show; this is giving us free publicity with area merchants and great in showing HCCC in the com-munity involvement. Also, they are having a Young Patriots Parade, Downtown, June 13th, 8am-

11am that we are assisting in. We’ll still be able to go across the street to the 1st Firetruck show.

Johnny just told me the truck is rolling on all four wheels now!! First time in many, many years!

Next WAE meeting is May 19th at Shoney’s at 2pm. Please attend if you can and also our website

and history committee is meeting at the same time.

Jim and Barbara Webber, that was so instrumental in our website has retired from it to pursue camp-

ing and other retirement chores. Thanks for all the progress and work !! Brian Wruck will now be heading up this program. Wish him luck as he works to expand our web-sites and assist our scrap-

book.

Thanks to all that have signed up to work the trailer, there are still a few spots left. Hope you like

our new set up at the cruz n’s this gives you more shade and makes you more visible.

Still remember our sick, shut ins and mourning members in your prayers! Heaven not only has a

heck of a rock and roll band, they’ve got a HCCC, Heaven County Car Club!!!

Also, thank you for the help in the Jr. club show! Even in rain, it was a success! Thanks again to

my soldiers Paul, Ted, Dan, Brian, Lisa, Jerry, William, Gene and everybody else I missed ! Big

shout out to Mr. Harden on the great job on the engine !!

REMEMBER HCCC ELECTION IN JUNE

HAPPY CRUZ N !!!

Butch

Hope you enjoy all

the pictures

Even Victory Junction has a Wal-

Mart!!!! This is where we dropped

the bears at their new home.
