Message from the President What's under your needle today? It seems that many are joining a trend and are committed to getting the UFO's done. What a great idea! Some are just piling them up and starting at the top of the heap. Others are randomly choosing a project and finishing it. This sounds like fun doesn't it! This concept allows you to become reacquainted with your fabric and commands you to hone your skills. It's like starting over again and asking yourself, why did I start this quilt? Was it the pattern that sparked your interest or the color palette? Was it the workshop you took but did not know how to finish the project? Whatever the reason, now is the time to finish what you have starteit is such a good feeling to complete that quilt, one that you actually like now. After all, we have a Quilt Show coming up and what better place to showcase your creations. Caramel Sauce
Whip up this creamy topping in the microwave to make summer treats special without heating up the kitchen. Recipe can be cut in half.
1 bag caramels (42 pieces) 3 oz. cream cheese (block) 1/2 C brown sugar 1 t vanilla
Place caramels in a microwave safe bowl and zap at full power in 30 second increments, stirring occasionally. Longer periods of zapping may cause the caramels to scorch and ruin the sauce. When caramels are not quite melted, add the cream cheese and continue zapping until fully melted. Stir in the brown sugar and vanilla.
