Step-By-Step will take our End of Year field trip on Tuesday, May 1 to Wonders of Wildlife.
Our End of Year program is set for Friday, May 4th beginning at 6 pm. We will recognize our graduating
Pre-K children and our Volunteer of the Year. We invite everyone to come and celebrate their
accomplishments as they move on to Kindergarten.
Step-By-Step will start our summer program on May 21st.
We will be closed on Monday, May 28th in observance of Memorial Day.
UMW
Our May meeting will be hosted by Judy Kitchen. Join us Tuesday, May 8th, at 11:30 for lunch at Maggie Mae’s in Miller. Our friends from the Miller Church will join us. Our program will be to visit the
Miller Christian Service Center and the new Craft Store on Main Street. We will also be remembering to help our mission project
this quarter—our own Step By Step Development Center.
There are also still plenty of opportunities to volunteer by counting
money, operating the power point, ushering or becoming a bus driver on
Sundays. The sign up list is on the Welcome Desk in the foyer.
You can also volunteer to rock babies and read to the children with
Step-By-Step Development Center by calling Jessica at 466-2459.
Volunteer Opportunities Have you been on a Walk to Emmaus? Are you
interested in attending a Walk to Emmaus? If so,
come to Keen Bean on Wednesdays at 11 am
and see what this is about. If this time isn’t
convenient with your schedule, please contact
the church office at 466-2459.

Celebrate! Celebrate! Dance to the music! I believe that’s the way Lionel sang it. The parsonage has been sold! All the paperwork was signed and we received the check last week. Woo Hoo!!! With that check, we were able to completely pay off our mortgage! The church is paid off! That deserves another Woo Hoo! A big THANK YOU goes to the Trustees for all their hard work! Special thanks also go to Dick and Joel for the extra time they had to spend. Thank you to all! Job well done! Have you noticed? The field west of the church looks different. It is being worked so that we can plant designer sweet corn. A big thank you goes to Kim for heading this project. The Trustees are again working to take care of the needs of the church. I also want to thank everyone who contributed to this project. It is my prayer that this project becomes more than a fund raiser. I pray that it is a place of service, ministry, and outreach. Start praying, if you haven’t already, that the fields get adequate rain, we get a great yield, people are fed, and money is raised. This project should be self-sustaining and will help the church into the future. I announced this past Sunday that I have been appointed to Memphis United Methodist Church in Memphis, MO. If you have never heard of Memphis, MO; neither had I. When they told me I was going to Memphis, I asked Tennessee? I now know where it is. It is north and east of Kirksville. I went there last Sunday and met with their committee. They were very welcoming. I go anticipating God to do a good thing there just as God has done a good thing here. Part of being a United Methodist pastor is that we are itinerate. It is always sad for me to leave a congregation. It is sad to leave you! I have appreciated your prayers, kindness and support as I have served here. I have developed many relationships and heard your stories. I will carry them with me always. I know this is a time of expectancy for you…wondering who will be appointed to serve you. This I know, God will provide for you! You all are great folks and I believe God will work miracles among you as you follow Jesus! My last Sunday will be May 27. I hope that the remaining weeks I will be with you - will be used to celebrate what God has done, what God is doing, and what God will do in the future! I never say goodbye, I will say see you later! May many blessings come your way! Long story short, I have had to change my phone number. The new number is: 660 342 3445. Please use this new number for calls or texts. I don’t want to miss your call!
Blessings,
Mary Lou
Bible Study
We are beginning a new Bible Study on Sunday evenings. We will meet on May 6th with a
potluck dinner at 4 pm and a devotional and discussion at 5 pm.
We will begin our new study on May 20th. Starting with a Potluck dinner at 4 pm and study at
5 pm. Our study is “Unglued” by Lysa Terkeurst.
What do wo do with raw emotions?
We stuff, we explode, or react somewhere in between!
Is it really possible to make emotions work for us instead of against us?
Yes it is and this study will show us how!!
Rev. Mary Lou Toft —Pastor

Bring the tenth part into the store-house, so that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this,” says the Lord of All. “See if I will not then open the windows of heaven and pour out good things for you until there is no more need. Malachi 3:10
