GREETINGS FROM YOUR BROTHERS & SISTER IN ST. JOSEPH NAMALAKA
People of St. Brendan,
Missed you a lot on this Easter, how we wish you were here to celebrate this holy occasion with us. The Easter
feeling does not end, it signals a new beginning of nature, spring and a brand new life of friendship. St. Joseph
is cool and windy as we are starting the winter season. We are much delighted to hear of your coming to Ma-
lawi and we count down the June 6 arrival of St. Brendan’s delegation. We are planning to host you for three
full time days at the parish to familiarize yourselves with the parish, it culture, our churches and above all get-
ting to know the people themselves. Our joys are housed in balloons which will burst upon your arrival! We,
therefore, commit ourselves to prayer for traveling mercies on this good cause.
The priest house project is advancing significantly They are now working on the
roof of the main house. We look forward to seeing you. Greetings to the planning
team. Stay blessed, John Andrew Phiri (head school master) Together we can
grow. We are collecting rosaries and soccer balls in box in Narthex. Questions?

DO YOU KNOW?—Learning about Jesus’ Miracles
(answers next week)
1. Matthew 9: 1-8 This is the first miracle in the gospel of Matthew. Jesus heals a man who cannot move. What else does Jesus do? Jesus also forgave his sins.
2. Mark 1: 29-31 Peter’s mother in law got busy as soon as she was healed. What did she do? She served food to Jesus and others in the house.
3. Luke 6: 12-16 Jesus heals the leper (a person with leprosy). After that Jesus tells the leper to go
to the priest. Find out more about this command by going to Leviticus 13: 9. The priest was given the responsibility to see if the disease was contagious.
4. The miracle in John 6: 1-15 is often called the Feeding of the 5,000. This happened near the time of a great Jewish feast. Can you find out what feast it was? See verse 4. They were getting ready to celebrate the Passover. That is the feast to celebrate leaving Egypt and crossing the Red Sea to-ward the Promised Land.
Have you registered for
VACATION BIBLE CAMP?
Dates July 11-15
The Vacation Bible Camp is packing up and gearing up. We’re go-ing to EGYPT to find out more about Jo-seph of the Old Testament, the great grandson of Abraham.
We need more teen helpers, a few more adult helpers, and LOTS and LOTS of kids. Registration forms available after every Mass.
It’s a $50 camp, pretty cheap for what you get! Let us know if you need a 50% schol-arship. We will have drama, games, Bible adventures, crafts, great food, and cool videos about Egypt. Join us!

ST. BRENDAN WOMENS BOOK CLUB
May is the month for devotion to Our Lady so we se-
lected a book entitled Our Lady of Garabandel by
Judith Albright. Join us as we discuss the apparitions
of Mary in Garabandal, Spain in the early 60’s. Due
to the Memorial Day holiday, we will be meeting a
week earlier than normal. Please mark your calen-
dars for Monday, May 23rd. At 7:00 pm. We meet
in the Brendan House Dining Room. Call Berni at
425-485-4893 or Anneliese at 425-486-4225.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS CORNER
Knights participation in the Bothell 4th of July
Parade is back on! The Knights have stepped up
and will again lead a Knights of Columbus entry
in this year’s parade. All those interested in
helping out should contact Mike Sanders or any
Knight. We could really use a trailer which can
be decorated as a float.
The Bothell Knights were well represented at the
KofC Sate Convention in Vancouver this past
week. We were given special recognition for hav-
ing achieved the “International To Be A Patriot
Award—2015”. This is the highest award pre-
sented by the Knights each year.
A Knights family will be hosting Fr. Peter Adoko-
Enchill this week as he vacations from his as-
signment at St. Mary’s Church in Aberdeen. He
loves his current parishioners, but fondly remem-
bers St. Brendan too! Fr. Peter also serves with
Fr. Brian Thompson at St. Mary’s.
LIBRARY CORNER It’s the Merry Month of May—Time
to give honor to Mary! The library
staff has pulled out several books
on Our Lady and placed them on
the cart in the Narthex. There are
more books on Mary and Marian devotions in the
library. She continues to call us to follow her Son.
We also have many children’s books on Mary.
Come on in. Check us out!

FOR GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS
The Newman Center and the Peer Ministers are excited to announce the an-
nual BBQ for graduating high school seniors on May 27 from 5:30—7:00 pm.
The goal of the BBQ is to connect graduating high school seniors with college

into campus ministry wherever they are going. There will be food, games,
testimonies, a tour of the center and Q&A sessions for both parents and stu-
dents. After the event, there will be a brief tour of the University of Washing-
ton campus for those who are interested.
WELCOME TO OUR NEW PARISHIONERS! SAVE THE DATE! Saturday, June 4, after the 5:00 pm Mass! We will be serving a delicious
chicken dinner with salads and desserts to our new parishioners and having
a social to welcome you all. The evening will start after the 5:00 pm Satur-
day Mass and wrap up around 8:00 pm. Current members will share infor-

THE MOST HOLY TRINITY Today’s psalm reminds us that we have been crowned with glory and honor
and given rule over the works of God’s hands. But we must be good stewards,
for the Lord will surely hold us accountable for the use of those gifts.
ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL Your gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal is still needed! Thank you to all who
have responded to the needs of our Church in Western Washington through
the 2016 Annual Catholic Appeal. One person or parish could not possibly
accomplish all that needs to be done for over 60 ministries and services of
the Annual Catholic Appeal. Gifts of any amount are welcome; your gift will
make everything possible. It is not too late to return your pledge envelope if
you haven’t already done so! Please fill out envelope today or go online to
donate: www.seattlearchdiocese.org/donate
DID YOU KNOW? St. Brendan Parish is our Spiritual Home. But, as with most homes, it takes a
lot of effort to make work. The Parish budget is about $1.3 million in dona-
tions which allows the Parish to keep its programs operational. This averages
$25,000/week over 52 weeks. Our parishioners are very generous but we do
not often make this goal. As you study and pray this week, ask if you can help
the Parish financially to continue in its mission.
