FROM THE DESK OF FATHER ANTHONY…………………
BLESSED AND GLORIOUS EASTER!! As we enter into the Seventh and final week of the Easter Season 2019, we are in the midst of the Pentecost Novena, praying for a new and fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon us, the Church, and the world. We are in a time of transition – we know that we are in the world, but we also know that we are not of the world. We are in time of transition from the old order passing away and the coming of the new heavens and earth. We steadfastly await the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit will help us to be witnesses to Resurrection of Jesus Christ as we await His Coming at the end of time. The Holy Spirit will keep us faithful until our death if we open our hearts to Him. Pray for a renewal of the Holy Spirit’s work and presence in your life.
Although I have mentioned this in the past, I want to reiterate that I am happy to celebrate the Sacraments with the sick, the homebound, and any other person who needs the Sacraments. PLEASE – if you need the Sacrament of the Sick or the Sacrament of Penance – do not hesitate to call. We can arrange a way to celebrate these Sacraments safely.
The United States government is providing “stimulus” checks and/or deposits in the amount of $1,200 to many citizens who need these funds during the current pandemic and crisis. I am wondering if Holy Trinity can also benefit from this. May I humbly ask that you consider giving – if you are able – 1% ($12), 2% ($24), 3% ($36), 4% ($48), 5% ($60), or even 10% ($120) of your stimulus funds to the parish? I will match the contributions with up to $600 of my stimulus check. If you choose to participate in this project, please clearly designate that your contribution is part of the “Stimulus Fundraiser.” If your stimulus is $2,400, the percentages are double of the amounts for $1,200. However, any amount is certainly welcome and needed to help us in meeting our financial obligations. Thank you for your generosity and consideration.
Tomorrow is Memorial Day. We remember all those who gave their life for love of country and freedom for others. Let’s keep in our prayers those who are serving our nation in the military and all those who are protecting our freedoms. We also remember police officers, fire fighters, first responders, and all those who put the needs of others before their own. Of course, we also extend our gratitude to all in the health field who are caring for many persons who have the coronavirus. We thank nurses, doctors, pharmacists, “techs,” paramedics, and all others who are serving the needs of the sick and suffering.
May God bless them abundantly for their service.
GREAT NEWS! WE WILL BE ALLOWED TO CELEBRATE SUNDAY MASSES PUBLICLY ONCE AGAIN, BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 6-7, WHICH HAPPENS TO BE OUR FEAST DAY, THE MOST HOLY TRINITY. I WILL ANNOUNCE THE SUNDAY MASS SCHEDULE IN THE BULLETIN NEXT WEEK, OR IT WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE WEBPAGE AFTER THAT DECISION IS MADE. WE MUST OBSERVE SEVERAL PROTOCOLS IN PREPARING THE CHURCH FOR WORSHIP. ARE YOU INTERESTED IN HELPING TO CLEAN THE CHURCH AFTER EVERY SUNDAY MASS, INCLUDING SATUR-DAY NIGHT? I AM NOT SURE THAT WE WILL BE ABLE TO HAVE ALL 3 MASSES AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS REOPENING, BECAUSE OF THE CLEANING AND SANITIZING THAT ARE REQUIRED. ALSO, WE WILL PRACTICE PHYSICAL DISTANCING; THE USE OF MASKS IS REQUIRED. WE WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED TO HAVE 25% CAPACITY. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE OBLIGATION TO ATTEND MASS IS STILL SUSPENDED. IF YOU ARE SICK. PLEASE DO NOT COME TO MASS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION.
Thanks to all who are participating in the Diocesan Lenten Appeal. As of Monday, May 18, we have received 158 gifts for a total of $67,400. We are at 139.53% of our goal!

DON’T GET SCAMMED!
Scammers are out there and in some cases are now posing as priests and other clergy. You might receive and email or text that appears to be from your Pastor or another priest that you may know request-ing funds. You should be suspicious of any request for funds of any type via and email message, text and phone call too, Know that priests will NEVER ask for financial transactions via email, text or phone call. Know that any email from a priest should be from either a diocesan email or the email listed in the parish's bulletin. If you can’t find the email on the parish or dioc-esan website, it is probably a scam. Please carefully check the email address and verify any request with a call to the person supposedly sent it.
