Next Generation Control

• The NGC is currently released on the following machines in all regions:

• DT/DM-1, DT/DM-2, MM/SMM, MM2/SMM2

• Large VMCs (VF-6 to VF-12, all versions including SS and VMs)

• Medium VMCs (VF-3 to VF-5, all versions including SS and VMs)

• Small VMCs (VF-1 to VF-2, all versions including SS and VMs)

• UMC-750/SS

• EC-1600/ZT

Next Generation Control

• NGC standard features:

– 1GB program memory

– Power Failure Detection

– Ethernet Connection

– Haas Connect (available in US and Canada only)*

• An updated software version is recommended at install

• Software for the NGC is updated at the end of each quarter

Next Generation Updates

• DWO/TCPC option has been temporarily removed from the EC-

1600’s

• Light curtain is currently unavailable for NGC

• 100.16.000.1011 Released

- Heavy tool now slows the tool changer 25% in SS machines

- VPS now machines to proper depth for multi – depth operations

- VPS templates and on screen images match

- Few other miscellaneous fixes

• 3rd party rotary

- Many customers using third party rotary tables

- Factory responded with a new NGC option

• Midaco pallet changers

- Parameters needed for Midaco were set incorrectly

- Factory worked with Midaco to discover and resolve the issue

Both have been resolved in the Quarter 2 release

Software Updates

NGC Enhancement

Added Canned Cycle Chip Clean

• To keep the tool free of chips while using canned

cycles

• Between each operation of a canned cycle, the

spindle reverses from the direction it has on the

exit stroke until the tool exits the part.

• Behavior is initiated with the E address code

NGC Enhancement

HaasConnect Updates

• Start using HaasConnect via MyHaas

• 11 customers currently using HaasConnect in the field

Brake Booster Option

• New rotary option: Brake Booster

• Allows for up to 50% more brake

torque by increasing air pressure by

50% to 150psi (10.3 bar) maximum

• The rotary brake torque specs on the

website are listed at 100psi (6.9 bar)

• Example: HRT210 has up to 200ft-lb

(271Nm) of brake torque

– Up to 300ft-lb (407 Nm) with this option

• Mounts below CALM cabinet
