Those to remember in prayer…

Scott Allen will begin with both chemo and

radiation treatment around May 31st. The treatments

will take place at the same time with chemo

occurring once per week for 6 weeks and radiation

five times a week for the same 6 weeks.

John Spencer had back surgery last Wednesday to

deal with his severe spinal stenosis. The surgery

went very well and he expected to go home on

Friday. Beverly became ill during John’s surgery

and was taken to a nearby Methodist emergency

center where tests determined that she has a very

high level of calcium. She is now in Methodist

Hospital Medical Center in the Jones Tower in room

1121.

Vera Rose Head, the newborn grandbaby of Lecy

Ybarra, remains in NICU following her premature

birth on May 10th, 8 weeks early, but is making good

progress.

Loyce Sargent, Ann Clawson’s mother, had a

procedure done over a week ago to remove a blood

clot from her arm. She was able to go home from the

hospital last Monday.

Nikki Spears had MRI's performed last Monday on

both her ankle and knee that she hurt several weeks

ago and is awaiting the results.

Kevin Burkhardt, Kevin Ford’s friend and

coworker, has Stage 2 esophagus and stomach

cancer. He will have surgery to remove his

esophagus and part of his stomach and after surgery

he will begin chemotherapy.

Lola Haley asks that we keep in our prayers James

Peveey who has just been diagnosed with cancer of

the kidney. James is the father of Lola’s

daughter-in-law, Gwen Haley.

VBS 2016

Our Vacation Bible School is set

for June 27th - June 30th

Our theme this year is: “Creatures of the Heart”.

If you are interested in teaching

or helping, please see Kim Hamilton or Joyce Davenport. Volunteers are needed and

very much appreciated.

Greg Fair will be bringing the sermon next Sunday morning,

June 5th, since Rayford will be away at Camp Bandina.

We are collecting

grocery bags and

paper towel rolls for

our VBS. If you could

please bring them in batches of

15 and place them in

the yellow box in the

foyer, it would be

greatly appreciated.

Ladies Bible class will not be meeting over the summer. Class will resume again in September.

Additional Deacons Proposed

Last Sunday, the elders placed before the congregation the names of three men to serve

as additional deacons. These men are Don Berryman, Curtis Gardner and Joey

Janoch. If you know of any scriptural reason why any of these men are not qualified to serve, you must present this to one of the elders by Sunday, June 12. If there are no

objections, all three men will be appointed to serve on Sunday, June 19.

Curtis Hartshorn, from Checotah

Church of Christ in Oklahoma, will

be bringing the sermon tonight.

Graduate Degree

Our congratulations are extended to Emily Faber, who graduated two weeks ago from the Pratt Institute in New York City with a Master of Arts Degree in Media Studies.
