Prayer at the Time of a Pandemic O God, Whose only begotten Son bore the weight of human

suffering for our salvation, hear the prayers of your Church for our

sick brothers and sisters and deliver us from this time of trial.

Open our ears and our hearts to the voice of your Son:

Be not afraid, for I am with you always.

Bless all doctors and nurses, researchers and public servants;

give us the wisdom to do what is right and the faith to endure this hour, that we might gather once again to praise your name in the heart of your Church, delivered from all distress and confident in

your Mercy. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Pray in the church privately. The church is open daily from 9 am to 4:30 pm. Please adhere to the guidelines of no more than 10 people six feet apart so that we can continue to keep the church

open. In times where there is a Private Mass being held, the church doors will be locked.

are extended to the family and friends of

who died recently.

Please remember them and their family in your

prayers. This is an especially difficult time for

family and friends of the deceased as they

cannot gather together to comfort, console and

share loving memories.

Gilles Comeau, Leanne Cyr, Robert Eagle, John Gallant, Dennis Holman, Ginette LeBlanc, Georgette Lorenzetti, Dee Lucas, Riley Watts and Fr. Bob Bruso.

If you know someone who needs prayers, call the rectory or email us at [email protected] and we will add them to our list for a month.

Bible Reflection, The Good Shepherd Sunday John 10:1-10

Jesus says: I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved-

- In Jesus we have the new model of the true shepherd. In him is fulfilled the expectation of the

Good Shepherd promised by God.

- The shepherd enters through the gate to take care of the sheep, not to oppress them. In fact, the

sheep recognize his authority and follow him.

- Jesus leads the people to take them out of the darkness, because such is the work which the Fa-

ther has entrusted to him.

- Jesus is the new gate in regard to every person.

It means to “get close to Him”, “to trust Him”, to follow Him and to allow ourselves to be guided by

His message to participate in the dedication of Jesus so that the true happiness of man may be ac-

complished.

Voices all around us challenge what we believe. We see movies and watch television programs that

tell us almost any sin is OK as long as it is fun, or as long as we commit it with enough love. We see

and hear endless ads telling us that we, and what we desire, matter first, most, last and always.

Many tell us that everything we want, we should have, and that everything bad that happens to us is

someone else’s fault.

Who is your Shepherd and whom do you listen?

PRAYER: Loving Father, your Son Jesus Christ suffered for us. By his wounds we were healed. Fill

us with the strength of the Holy Spirit that we may follow the Good Shepherd to the pasture of eter-

nal life. We thank you and glorify you, now and forever. AMEN

The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.
