Ready! Set! Go! Back to School will Kick-off 7th Annual School Supply GiveawayIt’s time to gear up and get ready for Ready! Set! Go! Back to School non-profit organization back to school campaign! They will kick off their 20 15 School Supply Giveaway for the 7th Annual Ready! Set! Go! Back to School (RSG BTS) exposition. On May 5, 2015 at 10:00 AM on the lawn of the back to school headquarters, Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, they will present their sponsors and include a call for donations. The Expo, gives parents information and other resources to help their children have successful school years. The RSG BTS will be held August 16 at the Savannah Civic Center, providing free school supplies as well as information on after-school programs, health, nutrition and safety.
RSG BTS is a collaboration among the IMA, the Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools, the City of Savannah, Cha-tham County, nonprofit organizations, businesses and churches. It provided assistance to over 5,000 children at the 2014 event. Fact sheets are available for more information on the expo.
Who: Ready! Set! Go! Back to School Committee
What: The Ready! Set! Go! Back to School Committee will have a press conference to announce to the public the date of the Back to School Expo. Registration for vendor booths, volunteers and making contribution to the organization will be available.
When: The first press conference will be Thursday, May 5th at 10 a.m.
Where: The press conference will take place at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church located on 622 37th St, Savannah, GA 31401.
About IMA Back to SchoolEstablished in 2008, IMA Back to School was a project and committee of the IMA. The IMA saw a need and began trying to fulfill it for the community. The event was to take place in the park but because of the scorching temperatures in Savan-nah, IMA made a request to the Mayor of Savannah. The City of Savannah started its partnership and then others joined in to make this a successful event. The first year we had over 3600 attendees and it has grown to having over 5,000 attendees with over 80 exhibitor booths and almost 300 dental and health checks. This is one of the largest family events in the city.
