Thank you and may God bless you for your generous return to the Lord.

It’s over full year now since we entered under the cloud of COVID 19. We’ve made adjustments to our lives, comforted those in sorrow,

and we look forward to when this will all end. We know that troubles do continue and sometimes can be overwhelming. Problems arise and don’t discriminate; and it never seems fair. Please know that the St. Vin-cent de Paul is here to help you. If you or someone you know locally that needs assis-tance spiritually, or with rent, groceries, fuel, guidance or just needs someone to talk to—we are here for you. You are never alone. Please call the office at 508-278-2226 and someone from the SVdP Society will promptly return your call. God Bless.

Prelude Music for this weekend

Chorale Preludes:

Prelude and Fugue in G Major, Opus 37 by Felix Mendelssohn

6TH SUNDAY OF EASTER “This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (JOHN 15:12-13) Do you love Je-sus? Do you consider Him your friend? Jesus says that if we love Him we would be willing to offer whatever we have to Him, not because we want praise and glory, but simply because we love Him. Does your giving seem mechanical out of obligation or do you share freely out of love?

Happy Mother’s Day

THE YEAR OF ST. JOSEPH

MAY—MODEL OF WORKERS

Prayer for the Spirit of Work

God our Father, Creator and Ruler of the universe, in eve-ry age you call us to use and develop our gi!s for the good of others. With St. Jo-seph as our guide, help us to do the work you have asked and come to the rewards

you have promised. Please grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

MAY IS THE MONTH OF MARY

The month of May is the "month which the piety of the faithful has especially dedicated to Our Blessed Lady," and it is the occa-sion for a "moving tribute of faith and love which Catho-lics in every part of the world [pay] to the Queen of Heaven. During this month Christians, both in church and in the privacy of the home, offer up to Mary from their hearts an espe-cially fervent and loving homage of prayer and ven-eration. In this month, too, the benefits of God's mercy come down to us from her throne greater abundance"

(Paul VI, Encyclical on the Month of May)

PRAY THE ROSARY

PRAYER FOR OUR FIRST COMMUNICANTS:

“May you always know the Peace of Jesus, the Light of His Love, and the

Joy of His Life within you.”

Congratulations to all our First Com-municants. May you always feel as close to Jesus as you do today. We pray you always feel the blessings He gives you with tender, loving care.

CONSTRUCTION ON THE G.R.A.C.E. CENTER

has begun.

The bulldozers and backhoes are excavating and moving earth to prepare for the pouring of the foundation. This gymnasium and classroom addition will provide much needed space and allow for on-site gym classes, basket-

ball games, practices, school gatherings and events. The gym will also be available for parish functions and community events. The class-rooms will be updated with leading edge technologies to provide our outstanding Middle School Academy with learning spaces designed to meet the academically rigorous standards of our school. As we move our Middle School Academy from the main building to The G.R.A.C.E. Center, we will transform the seventh and eighth grade classrooms into a Fine Arts Learning Center focused on Music Ministry and Theater Arts. Concurrently, we will equip our Makerspace with ro-botics equipment, coding software, 3-D printers and virtual reality kits. This transformation of common spaces in the main building is an ancil-lary and essential part of this addition. It is important to recognize that we continue to fundraise and that we need continued donations big and small to ensure the completion of this project. We are hopeful that the excitement that comes with the ground-breaking and construction will inspire friends of OLV and supporters of Catholic education to make a gift to The G.R.A.C.E. Center. This can be done by mailing a check to Our Lady of the Valley with The G.R.A.C.E. Center noted in the memo section or by visiting ourladyofthevalleyre-gional.com and clicking on The G.R.A.C.E. Center.

HELP WITH COVID VACCINATION CLINIC VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Uxbridge Board of Health appreciates the many volun-teers who have donated their time and efforts to the South-ern Worcester County Vaccination COVID-19 Clinic. The clinic, located at the McCloskey School in Uxbridge, will be administering more vaccines in the next few weeks than in past weeks, and for that reason we are in need of volunteers to help. Volunteers who are willing to assist with the registra-tion and checkout system will be trained, but the clinic is also in need of volunteers who can greet incoming patients, run vaccines to the vaccine stations, and more.

If you have the interest and time to help with this important public health work, please contact Erin Hightower, Uxbridge Health Director, at [email protected] or call the Board of Health office at 508-278-8600 ext. 8. Thank you!

St. Joseph Ministry BUILD A BIRDHOUSE LIKE ST. JOSEPH!

For those who took home a birdhouse to build and deco-rate, you may bring it back to put on our display table. We would love to see your creation! Everyone who brings their birdhouse will receive a small prize.

PRAYER OF GRATITUDE

FOR MOTHERS Dear Lord,

Today we turn to you to give thanks for all our Mothers. We pray for our Mothers who bore us in their wombs, for our Mothers who chose us through adoption, for those who cared for us, watched over us, corrected us, and stayed with us through thick or thin no matter what our familial relationship; our deepest gratitude and prayers of thanks for them.

Please bless them, Lord, and com-fort them. Help their loving hearts to continue to love and give of themselves to others. Strengthen them when they are down and give them hope when they are discouraged. Most of all, Lord, on this Mother’s Day, give our mothers the graces they most need and desire. We ask this, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen

SOLEMNITY OF THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD

THURSDAY, MAY 13

This Thursday, May 13, we cel-ebrate the Solemnity of the Ascension of our Lord.

Falling on the 40th day after Easter, Ascension Thursday invites us to remember that while Christ has “passed beyond our sight,” he reigns in glory with the Father. He remains invisi-bly present continually guiding the Church as it journeys through time. At the end of Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus says, “I am with you always.” Christ being lifted up into eternal glory is the pledge of our future destiny with God. Join with us as we continue our celebra-tion of Easter at either the 7:00am or 7:00pm Mass on Thursday, May 13.
