Hope all of you are
enjoying your spring time, we here at Project Life Impact definitely are. We have had a very exciting and productive month of April. We are launching two great programs that will teach students the fundamentals of a healthy life both physically and mentally. The first program is Exer Gaming with a collaboration through Med Play Technologies students at our school sites will be able to enjoy the fun of playing videos games while exercising.
The second program is our very own Impact Sports. Impact Sports is a new branch of PLI that will hold tournaments and clinics for all the major sports. The goal of Impact Sports is not only for students to improve their athletic skills with clinics and competition, but to build the students character as they learn how to interact with others, deal with adversity, and learn about
working hard to achieve their goals. Our first event is a Free Baseball Clinic for more information go to page 3. If you have questions about the programs or would like to sign
up feel free to contact us at (909) 388-1700.

A Word From Our CEO
After SchoolFun Fitness & Health Program
Exer GamingKids Get Healthier & SmarterWhen They ExerciseRecent research proves that physical activity improves the brain in many ways, even
growing new brain cells. When
kids exercise they have improved
attention. better behavior, and
they store , retrieve and process
information better. All this leads to
better grades and a more successful
life!
Our after school exercise and
nutrition program gets kids moving,
improves their health AND their
cognitive ability! So, while many
schools are cutting back on Physical
Education in order to increase
academic scores, our program
brings back exercise - after school.
This gives our students the physical
activity advantage their brains need
so they can acheive a life-time of
success!
MedPlay Technologies We specialize in using Exergames and adding fun and innovative exercise to after
school programs across the country. When our fun, video exercise games, kid
friendly coaches and unique exergaming exercise circuit are added to the mentoring
and academic programs of our after school partners, wonderful things happen. Kids
actually have fun exercising! And when exercise is fun, kids do it longer and pediatric
obesity and other lifestyle diseases are prevented or reduced. In addition, our evening
Family FitZone program teaches kids and their parents about nutrition. Families learn
together about successful methods to combat poor health in a fun and dynamic class
especially designed to fight the pediatric obesity epidemic.

Lankershim LionsLankershim had two visitors this month. The first was Ms. Tammy from Oak View Education Center, which is an alternative school. Ms. Tammy discussed the differences between her school and our school. In April we started a new sports club called “Circle Rule Football.” CRF is an amateur sport that combines football, soccer, and basketball. It’s a fast paced game that is played with an aerobics ball. The kids absolutely love it!
E. Neal Roberts KoalasThe Koalas had guests come visit them. Miss Linda and Izzy from the Desert Guide Dog organization. They informed us about the procedures, training, and importance of specialized trained dogs. All the students had a blast! Also during the month of May we will be holding Wet & Wild Days during minimum days. Finally we will be recognizing and rewarding our A-track students who will be ending their 2009-2010 school year. Hope to see you there!

Every month students highlight a country and in the month of
April we studied the Netherlands (Holland). The kids have been studying about dikes, tulips, windmills, & what kids in the Netherlands daily life is like. All through the month kids have
been studying symbols, flags, information about that country & making or coloring projects that have to do with the Netherlands.
We even have a guest speaker coming in to share the "Dutch"
language with us. Since January, we have studied Israel, China, Haiti & now the Netherlands. The students have been very excited about the program!
Norton Space & Aeronautics
Academy In April our Norton Site
started their Homework Club and learned about Earth Day. Students were taught about helping to take better care of the planet by conserving and reusing materials. Students
made crafts from items around the house, one of the
projects found us making paper mache dinosaur eggs
