White Ribbon is the world’ s largest movement of men working to end violence against women. in Australi a, violence against women is a serious problem, with one in three women experiencing physical and/ or sexual violence in her lifetime. Violence against women has been seen as a womens issue’ for far too long. Any sort of violence toward women is simply unacceptable and it is every mans responsibility to prevent it. i encourage all community members, especi ally men, to join us in the Civic Centre forecourt for our White Ribbon Day event, which will feature great guest speakers and live performances. The event will provide an opportunity to show your support for the White Ribbon campaign and take the pledge to never commit, condone, or remain silent about violence towards women. Resources will also be available to assist with taking action and changing attitudes and behaviours that lead to and perpetuate mens violence against women. Haberfield Footpath Renewal Project The haberfield Footpath Renewal Project is well underway, with quality granite pavings installed in Ramsay Street and Dalhousie Street. Finishing touches for this Project are yet to come. These include the repair or replacement of street name inlay signage in the footpaths, grouting, street plantings and the installation of street furniture. Works will continue into December . i look forward to seeing the final transformation of these much-loved haberfield streets, through this signature capital works program. White Ribbon Day

Ashfield Council will be holding a White Ribbon

Day event in the Ashfield Civic Centre forecourt on

Tuesday 24 November 2015, from 12pm to 1pm to

raise awareness about violence against women and

support White Ribbon Australia’s work to end men’s

violence against women.

White Ribbon is the world’s largest movement

of men working to end violence against women.

in Australia, violence against women is a serious

problem, with one in three women experiencing

physical and/or sexual violence in her lifetime.

Violence against women has been seen as a

‘women’s issue’ for far too long. Any sort of violence

toward women is simply unacceptable and it is

every man’s responsibility to prevent it.

i encourage all community members, especially

men, to join us in the Civic Centre forecourt for our

White Ribbon Day event, which will feature great

guest speakers and live performances.

The event will provide an opportunity to show your

Haberfield Footpath Renewal

Project

The haberfield Footpath Renewal Project is well
