consultation on it in 2008.
• The publication of the MTS started a formal
three month public and stakeholder
consultation.
• If the Mayor decides to remove the Western
Extension, then it will be removed in
December 2010

Mayor’s manifesto have been introduced...
including more than 400 uniformed officers
at 32 interchange locations across London
TfL’s Business Plan 2009/10 to 2017/18
• The Business Plan sets out details
of a multi-billion pound investment
programme that will deliver almost
30% increase in the capacity of
London’s public transport system
over the next 10 years
• The settlement covers funding of
Crossrail, support for the
Underground line upgrades and
the rest of TfL operations but has
a number of constraints
• The plan includes a £5 bn
programme of efficiency savings
across the TfL businesses
Transport Investment in Hammersmith and Fulham
London Underground
• Hammersmith & Fulham is served by 13
stations. Line upgrades are underway that will
increase peak capacity by:
– 25 per on the Piccadilly Line (by 2014)
– 49 per cent on the Hammersmith & City line
(by 2016)
– 47 per cent on the District line (by 2018)
• The Central line upgrade was complete in
2006 and delivered a 5% improvement in
journey time capability.
• New air-conditioned trains will be introduced
on the sub-surface lines, including the
District and Hammersmith & City lines

Rail
• West London Line enhancements
• £1.4bn investment programme to
create an orbital network
• Improved standards:
– Staff at all stations during
operating hours
– Oyster PAYG ticketing
– Refurbished stations
– New trains
Ticketing
Oyster pay as you go will be rolled out
further across the national rail network in
London from 2nd January 2010

Local Implementation Plans
• Between 2003/2004 and 2009/10 Hammersmith & Fulham received £35.7m
• In 2010-11 a further total allocation of £3.8mwill be available for areas covered by Corridors, Neighbourhoods and Smarter Travel
Roads
• £400,000 for improvements to Goldhawk Road and works to upgrade Coningham Road crossing
• £200,000 for riverwalk improvements and four schemes to enhance streetscape in Putney
• Upstream - radial access improved through the A40 Western Avenue Bridge replacement scheme
Cycling
• £60,000 for continued funding of cycle training initiatives
• Cycle superhighways: Route 9 from Heathrow to central London; Route 10, Park Royal to Hyde Park Corner
