Sample Letter For Your Use:

Dear Mayor X,

As you know, the reverberations of the economic crisis are still being felt here in

[CITY] and across the country. Meanwhile, our nation is projected to spend morethan $126 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, wars that the majority of Americans no longer support.

I ask you to join Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa as a co-sponsor of theBring Our War Dollars Home Resolution at the upcoming 79 th Annual Meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors. The resolution calls on the U.S. Congress toterminate funding for the wars and redirect those funds to meet vital humanneeds, promote job creation, rebuild our infrastructure, aid state and localgovernments, and develop a new economy based on renewable, sustainableenergy.

I urge you to sign onto this important resolution and register your support for foreign policy guided by diplomacy and a federal budget focused on rebuildingAmerica. Please send notice of your support to C.J. Minster at CODEPINK,[email protected] or 310-827-4320.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,[NAME]
