Fire up any MAZDA6 and you’ve fired up an array of advanced

engineering features shared by all—and put yourself in some

pretty fast company. Under the hood, your choice of two all-

aluminum engines—a potent 220-hp V6 or spirited 160-hp* 4-

cylinder—features variable valve timing to maximize low-end

torque and high-rpm power. Underneath it all, a double-wish-

bone front suspension and multilink rear suspension promote

surefooted handling. At all four corners, power-assisted disc

brakes promote linear, fade-resistant stops. And up front,

speed-sensing, power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering pro-

vides precise control and on-center feel. Which is why, around

A. GEAR UP FOR FUN. A slick-shifting, 5-speed close-ratio manual gearbox is standard on most MAZDA6 models. For the ultimate combination of convenience and

with its 60/40 split fold-down rear seatback in the upright position. B. REMOTE CONTROLS. To automatically “fold-flat”

the 60/40 split fold-down rear seatback, and also move the rear seat-bottom forward, simply pull the two remote

The two key adjustments work together to promote a more comfortable driving

The MAZDA6’s driver-centric cockpit is designed to

A. PROTECTIVE MEASURES. Dual two-stage front air bags* that

help match inflation speed to an impact’s severity, plus whiplash-

reducing front-seat head restraints and 3-point safety belts for

all five occupants are standard on all MAZDA6 models. Side air

curtains (with coverage for front and rear seats) and front seat

side-impact air bags* are standard on most MAZDA6 models.

rear suspension helps promote secure handling in emergencies—while its compact design also contributes to the generous amount of trunk or cargo area space. 3. BRAKING POWER PLUS.

impact protection and handling of every MAZDA6. 5. SAFER FOOTING.The MAZDA6 utilizes a pedal assembly that’s engineered to fold away in the event of an accident, minimizing the chance of a

serious ankle or leg injury. 6. SAFETY ZONES. Every MAZDA6 incorporates extensive designed-in crumple zones, front and rear, to help absorb the energy of a collision and better protect occupants.
