The MB-3R display is easy to read and use. The display button permits you to switch to one of 16 possible display modes, which otherwise rotate automatically every 3 seconds:

Connecting an MB-3R Meter with the MetroBilling Service

To connect a MetroBilling MB-3R meter to MetroBilling service via a NET485 converter do the following steps:

1. On the converter, connect the TXDA terminal to the RXDA terminal. Then connect the MB-3R meter’s port 21 to these terminals.

2. Connect the TXDB terminal to the RXDB terminal. Then

connect the MB-3R meter’s port 20 to these terminals.

3. Connect the positive (+) lead from an 8-24V DC power source to the converter’s 8-24VDC terminal.

4. Connect the negative (-) lead from the 8-24V DC power source to

the converter’s GND terminal.

5. The converter’s SGND port is not in use, so leave it disconnected.

6. Use a cable to connect the converter to the Ethernet switch: simply insert one end of the cable into the converter’s RJ45 female cable connector. The other end of the cable will attach to an RJ45 port on the Ethernet switch.

7. LED power will come on when power is supplied. The converter

will go through a self-test and attempt to connect to a server.

Connecting an MB-3R Meter to the Utility Grid

Connect the incoming phase wires: o L1 to the meter’s terminal 1 o L2 to the meter’s terminal 3 o L4 to the meter’s terminal 5

Connect the outgoing phase wires: o L1 to the meter’s terminal 2 o L2 to the meter’s terminal 4 o L4 to the meter’s terminal 6

Connect the incoming neutral to the meter’s terminal 7 Connect the outgoing neutral to the meter’s terminal 8
