THE SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY BOARD OF THE UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES BURGEN-LAND ENSURES THE QUALITY OF YOUR STUDIESIn order for the students of AIM to obtain a meaningful, purposeful, and high-quality education, a Scientific Advisory Board was established with the task of ensuring the quality of the courses offered. This happens regardless of all economic conside-rations. We have assembled a team of experienced high school teachers who are responsible for these tasks.

PROVEN KNOWLEDGE

In order to assure quality of teaching and thus the quality of academic training of an Austrian university of applied sciences each University of applied sciences itself and the trai-ning courses offered must undergo a quality audit by the AQ Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria.

The AQ Agency for Quality Assuran-ce and Accreditation Austria is a state agency that performs quality assurance measures at universities and technical colleges by law and may refuse the approval of academic courses due to quality deficiencies. The rights and duties of this agency are in a separate law - the Higher Education Quality Assurance Act (HS-QSG) -defined.

COURSE OBJECTIVES The MBA General Management is aimed at employees with first leadership experience, who want to take on holistic management functions in companies or as entrepreneurs. Therefore, the content of the course comprehensively covers the economic areas of knowledge, and helps the participants to recognise, especially in classroom activities, the relationships and dependencies on areas of knowledge, and to use them for solving challenging management tasks.

seeking career development.• want to acquire broad, in-depth business expertise in order to flexibly and timely take on a

REQUIREMENTS*• An internationally recognised domestic or foreign academic degree from a university (at

least a bachelor‘s degree equivalent), or - attained university entrance and at least five years of professional practice, or - Completion of a specialist course/ diploma course (university course, course for the training of a university of applied sciences, or university-level course) to the extent of at least 60 ECTS with at least three years of professional practice, or - Successful completion of a standard written entrance exam which covers the basic requirements of the course and a minimum age of 21

DEFINITION OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Actual work experience, as well as formal and informal education, which have led to the development of principles of corporate governance and organisational and social skills.

The MBA program General Management allows you to expand your expertise and to continue your education in business management.

PROOF OF PERFORMANCE The proof of performance for the successful completion of the MBA studies consists of 3 steps:

Entrance tests: Written entrance tests take place before the class modules on the previ-ously taken e-learning modules.

Homework: A research paper is to be written regarding the e-learning modules in the format of a scientific case study.

Thesis: Instead of a classical master thesis, a project is to be created, in which the ability to use the acquired knowledge conceptually, as well as to scientifically substantiate the contents developed is to be demonstrated.

All performance records are to be positively completed for the successful completion of the MBA program.

DEGREEThe successful graduates of the MBA General Management course will be awarded the academic degree ‚Master of Business Administration‘, abbreviated ‚MBA‘ by the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland.

STUDY START/ NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTSFor current study starts please refer to our Website. The course may be hold as far as 14 to 25 participants are registered. Through this, a high quality can be guaranteed in the class lectures, and the student group benefits from a reasonable diversity.

DURATIONThe duration of study is designed for 14 months. All modules are to be completed within the first 12 months. Subsequently, a project work is to be produced as a thesis within 2 months, so that the academic title of MBA can be acquired within 14 months.

QUALITYTo ensure the high quality standards, the content taught, the lecturers, and the course administration are continually evaluated by the students in terms of content, relevance, didactics, and organisation. On the basis of these evaluation results, similar measures are implemented by the programme director. Quality assurance is integrated into the quality management system of the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland.

DIPLOMAThe students of the ‚MBA General Management‘ training course are administrated as extraordinary students of the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland. You will be awarded the academic degree ‚Master of Business Administration‘, abbreviated ‚MBA‘, by the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland.

STUDY WITHOUT A-LEVELSTo provide many interested parties with access to quality education, you can also pursue studies without A-levels. This requires 3 years of professional practice, as well as the completion of a 3-semester professional course or completion of a standardised written entrance examination.

The blended format is designed for a study period of 12 months with a subsequent scientific practical work which takes around 2 months. The completion can be achieved within 14 months.

GRANTSDue to the large variety and different regulations – both nationally and at the country level – there is no general solution in the field of grants and fi-nancing.

TAX BENEFITS Training costs are tax deductible in Austria, as a business expense or as operating expenses.This involves expenses which are incurred through vocational training, such as course and seminar costs, costs for teaching aids, and also tra-vel and accommodation costs (howe-ver, there is an upper limit).If these expenses can be proven (by submission of an invoice), then they can be settled by jobholders as advertising costs, and by entrepre-neurs as business expenses. The tax deductibility of training and further education expenses is subject to different tax regulations in different countries.

We ask you to clarify this with financial authority or the competent tax authority.

ACQUIRE FOUNDATIONS IN E-LEARNING – EXTEND KNOWLEDGE AND TRANSFER PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE IN THE CLASSROOMEight e-learning modules, prepared with high didactic qualities and focu-sed on the relevant content for career development into leadership posi-tions, provide the necessary knowled-ge based to deepen knowledge and its connections in the class lectures, and to apply these connections to personal practical experiences. It‘s not just the lecturers‘ experience that are important, but also that the parti-cipants introduce examples from their work experience. The success of this blended learning format is partly due to the excellent knowledge transfer, and partly the transfer of practical knowledge in the classroom – only the application of knowledge enables the understanding of associations and ensures sustainability.

TRAVEL EXPENSESWith 3 classroom activities on 12 days, the cost of a fixed time of at-tendance is kept manageable. By including weekends in the presence phases, the study is to be completed with the usual holiday entitlements, without the need for additional days free for classroom sessions.
