An MBA should be more than a list of classes to complete.
At Iowa State University, our part-time Master of
Business Administration students receive the complete
MBA experience while on a part-time schedule.
Top faculty, career services and individual attention are some of
the features that separate the Iowa State part-time MBA program
from the competition. As one of our students, you will network
with your peers, develop your management style and enhance
your communication skills. When you graduate, you
will be ready for the next step in your career.

THE ISU ADVANTAGE
In today’s work environment, several traits can set you apart from the competition: your
education level, your interpersonal skills, and the ability to think critically and communicate
effectively. To prepare our students for advancement, the Iowa State part-time MBA
program builds these components into the classroom experience. When you graduate, not
only will you be equipped with the latest business knowledge, but you will also be a more
effective presenter, stronger team member, and a more confident leader.
The Iowa State part-time MBA program is unique in its delivery of the core curriculum. As a
student, you will progress through the lock-step core curriculum in a cohort. Teamwork is
an essential component of the program. Student core teams are assigned at the beginning
of the core curriculum; the teams work together throughout the core coursework just as they
would in a professional work situation. This stability builds team efficiency while teaching
delegation, trust, leadership, and working relationship skills. You will move independent of
your team when you customize your MBA with electives.

ACADEMICS
The 30-credit core curriculum takes a progressive approach, guiding you through business
education in a logical, comprehensive manner. Classes have been carefully sequenced in a
manner that ensures optimal understanding of course material. During the core curriculum,
our part-time MBA students carry six-credits per semester. By attending classes two

3 years. You can take advantage of the intersession electives and study abroad elective
to accelerate your coursework and graduate in as little as 2 years. This schedule respects

“There are several opportunities to specialize and I am pursuing a dual degree
with the MBA and the MS in Information Systems. My advice to you is to set
specific, realistic, attainable and timely goals before entering the program.
Utilize the great classes, professors, students and resources to achieve this
goal, and then reap the results of this hard work by seeing your professional
performance and opportunities in the workplace significantly improve.”
