    Assessment for each taught module is carried out using a variety of methods, including study analysis,

    written essays, project reports, oral presentations and group activities.

    The Preparing for Research module will involve the submission of a research proposal of 4,000 words. TheManagement Project will require the submission of a research project report of 12,000 words. This is anmportant element of the MBA programme which you undertake independently, but with support andguidance from your supervisor.

    All taught modules require attendance over the academic year for lectures, tutorials, discussions, seminarsand presentations with your tutors. In addition you are expected to undertake approximately 170 hours ofndependent study per module involving reading, research, personal investigation and completion of tutordirected tasks.

    Learning methods incorporate the use of case studies, discussions, presentations, group work and digitalmedia analyse.

    Our MBA programme also provides the opportunity to work in well known local companies, in order toapply what youve learnt to a real life workplace. Industry practitioners are also invited as guest speakers tohare their experiences and knowledge of management practices in a wide range of industries.

    The Chester MBA is a three-stage programme startingwith a core management component leading into amasters programme that covers all aspects of businessadministration. The programme has been designed toprovide students with the opportunity to develop an

    n-depth understanding of the various inter-relatedsubject areas in the broad discipline of Business andManagement.

    The programme consists of six taught modules in stag-es one and two. Of the six taught modules, one is anelective which provides the opportunity to specialisen a field of your choice. Stage 3 comprises of tuitionn Preparing for a Research and a Management Project.

    A range of elective modules and specialist pathways are offered each year so that students can personaliseStage Two of the programme to their own unique interests and career aspirations.

    MBA students can choose between three different pathways:. Generic MBA with specialist electives modules (see below) OR

    2. MBA with International Marketing OR3. MBA with Project Management

    The electives are offered only for the generic MBA course (above) and include:Financial Risk ManagementEmployment DynamicsInternational Business StrategyManagement in the Service Economy

    Availability of electives will be subject to student demand and minimum numbers.Specialised modules are a compulsory component of the MBA with pathways and replace the electives in

    Stage 2.

    MBA with International Marketing includes the specialist International Marketing module.MBA with Project Management includes our Managing Excellence in Processes and Projects module.
