The Graduate School of Business and Leadership offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme on the Westville Campus.
Duration
The MBA is a two and a half year Programme.
Eligibility
To be considered for admission onto the MBA Programme, an applicant is required to meet all the following criteria:
Have a matriculation exemption or a mature age exemption.
Hold a bachelor degree or other three-year qualifi cation rated as its HEQF equivalent.
Be at least 25 years old on the 1st of January of the year of commencement of study.
Have a minimum of 5 years working experience, at least 3 years of which should be in a managerial/supervisory capacity.
Applicants meeting these criteria will be invited to sit an entrance test. The highest-ranking applicants will be offered places on the MBA Programme.

Printed on Triple Green environmentally friendly paper. The pulp is 60% sugar cane fi bre which is recycled and annually renewable and sourced from local suppliers, many of them previously disadvantaged.

Programme teaching method
The MBA Programme is offered in two formats as a part-time evening class programme and a block release programme.
Both are held on the UKZN Westville Campus.
The MBA part-time evening class programme is held from Monday to Thursday at 18:00 to 20:30. Students may be required to attend additional lectures on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings. Participation in fi eld trips, excursions and attendance of additional presentations outside of the lecture theatre may be required.
The MBA block release is offered in block all day sessions from a Wednesday to a Saturday. Students will be required to attend 4 blocks per semester.
Assessment
Students are regularly assessed during the semester for each subject. Assessments can take the form of tests, assignments and presentations. Group work plays a large role in this Programme. Examinations are written at the end of each semester.
