RESEARCH INTERESTS: In general, my research interests fall into 3 categories: the impact of psychological stress (e.g., depression, anxiety) and lifestyle factors (diet, exercise, smoking, adherence) on the development and progression of chronic disease (e.g., cardiovascular disease, asthma, COPD, and obesity); psychophysiological and behavioral mechanisms linking psychological stress to disease; and behavioural medicine (e.g., behavioral interventions for chronic disease primary, secondary and tertirary prevention including motivational communication/counselling and cognitive-behavioral approaches).
