At the weekend I

went swimming with

my dad. First we

packed our swimming

trunks and towels.

Then we walked to

the bus stop and

waited for the bus

to take us to the

swimming pool. Samp

When we got there, my dad taught me how to swim. He held me up in the water and told me what to do. Later on dad said I could try by myself. It was easy. I did it all by myself!

After that we went to the

Burger Bar. I had a

burger, some chips and a

milkshake. Then we

caught the bus and went

home. It was a great day

out. I can’t wait to tell

my friends.

On Monday we went to the lifeboat station to see the lifeboat. We went all the way there on a bus. It was a long way.

When we got there the bus driver parked the bus in the car park and we walked down a steep slope to get to the lifeboat station.

There was another slope that led down to the sea. There were fishing boats on the slope. Our teacher said a tractor towed the lifeboat down the slope to the sea. She said the slope was called a slipway.Sa

After that we went inside the lifeboat station. One of the lifeboat men showed us the lifeboat and told us all about it.

He told us it was an inflatable lifeboat and that it had a name. It was called the Jason Logg. Sa

Next he took us to the changing rooms and talked to us about what lifeboat men wear when they get called out to a rescue. He told us that his life jacket has a whistle and a torch in case he falls in the sea and needs help.

Later they showed us how the tractor tows the lifeboat down to the sea and pulls it back again afterwards.Sa

It was really exciting. I liked it when we watched the tractor pulling the lifeboat back up the slope. When I grow up I think I’d like to be a lifeboat lady and wear all those special clothes.

Before we left, the lifeboat man told us that there are lifeboat ladies too.

Dear gran,Mum says I have to say thank you for the present you sent me and tell you all about my party.First mum baked me a special birthday cake and I helped her make it. We put seven candles on it because I’m seven now.Then we put all sorts of goodies on the table ready for my party. Mum said I was a scamp because I kept eating all the crisps and sweets.

At two o’clock all my friends started arriving. They all had a present for me. The best one was a skateboard from my best friend Leo. We all had a go on it then we played hide and seek until tea time.

After tea we played football in the garden and I wore the new football kit you sent me. I like it a lot because it’s my favourite colours.Samp

After that my friends had to go home because it was getting late.I really had a great time and I like being seven!Thank you for my present. I hope you’ll be able to come and stay with us soon. I miss you lots.
