Vertical Lay SystemThe PVLS-75Te is a portable vertical lay system for the
deployment and retrieval of subsea umbilicals, risers and
owlines (SURF). The innovation acilitates the transit
o exible products rom on-deck carousels or reel drive
systems to a vertical orientation so that they can be installed
over the side or through the moon pool o a vessel.
BeneftsProduct Handling: The PVLS hasthe functionality to incorporatea 10Te pull through winch and5Te tugger winches or workingin the moonpool area. For product
installation and recovery, thetop radius chute can eet by15ºfore and aft and the outboard
end retracts for varying diameterproducts.
Work Platform: The workplatorm is ftted with pad eyesfor attachment of rigging to aidhandling o the product. Two
5Te trolley hoists are positionedon runway beams throughthe centre o the tower to aidinstallation of buoyancy modulesand ancillary equipment.
Hang-Off Beam: The hang-offbeam is retracted during normaloperations but can be hydraulicallydriven into the fring line ormidline connection and hanging
o products.
Access: All areas of the PVLS are
accessible by integrated staircases,walkways and handrails.
Modularity: The complete PVLS
can be broken down quickly intomodular components for both seaand road transport. The maximumsingle component lift is 10Te(excluding tensioner components).
Functionality: Integrated controlvan, tensioner powerpack(i Maritime Developmentstensioner supplied) and PVLS
spares container. The unit can beinteraced with any o MaritimeDevelopments suite o equipmentsuch as winches, deck radius
controllers and compensatorsor reel drive systems, as well as
alternative suppliers’ equipment.
