    a tool to manipulate emotions

  • Light is a tool to give architecture a new purpose…

    It influences the way we perceive and experienceour inanimate surroundings.

    It affects the way we see a 3D moving object in space.

    It influences the subconscious. The picture on the right is more likely to trigger a positive mood in the viewer.

    Daylight characteristics: - available only after 12:00PM- low direct daylight through the vertical window in the late afternoons

    Proposed orientation: 90° NE

    Daylight characteristics: - 180° spectrum of daylight- more diffuse daylight in the winter due to low sun

    Benefits of a light self:

    - Redirecting the light beams to illuminate around the area of interest (client’s head)- Improved light distribution, softer and more diffuse light- Less glare
