(1) Select in the File menu the ” New ” option.

(2) Select PART .

You are now going to choose the plane on which

you will draw your first sketch.

(1) Select the YZ plane.

(2) Select the Sketcher icon.

The YZ plane is parallel to the screen

and a grid is displayed.

(1) Select the Profile icon.

(2) Select the origin point

(3) Select about 3 grid squares away, vertically,from the origin center.

(4) Select about 1grid square in 45 degres

(5) Select about 3 grid squares horizontally.

(6) Select about 4 grid squares vertically

(7) Select the origin point to finish the profile.

(1) Select the oblique dimension(2) Press the Delete Key to erase it

(3) Select the vertical line

(4) Select the Constraint icon

(5) Drag the dimension and select in thebackground to position it.

(6) Double click and change dimension to

(1) Select the Exit icon.

(2) Select the Pad icon.

Center the display at a specific location…

Click the middle mouse button.

(1) Select the Cut part by Sketch plane icon

(2) Select the Elongated Hole icon

Note: to open the sketch features you haveto select the small black arrow.

(3) Indicate the start point

(4) Drag the dotted line to the end point, andselect to validate it.

(5) As soon as you move the mouse, you defineautomatically the hole shape, click to validate it’sdimension.

(1) With MB3 select the Define in Work Object by selecting the pocket.1 node in the

specification tree

(2) With CTRL Key select the 5 edges

(3) Select the Edge fillet icon

(4) Select OK to confirm

Here you will apply Material Specifications to your

Part.

(1) In the screen lower toolbar, Select ApplyMaterial Icon .

(2) In the Library dialog box, select Metal

material type .

(3) Select Aluminium icon, then Drag and drop it

on any part face. Select OK to confirm.

The material properties are now included in

the part specifications.

(4) Select Apply Customized View Parameters

icon under the Shading with edges icon on thescreen lower toolbar to display the part material

texture.
