BBFC RATING: What does it mean?

Is a non government organisation, funded by the film industry and responsible for the national classification of films within the United Kingdom.

What Ratings are my group looking at – 15 and 18

15- Only those of 15 are admitted to watch this. Nobody under the age of 15 can buy or rent or watch the a 15 film. Films under this category can obtain moderate threat adult themes etc…

18- Only those of 18 are admitted to watch this. Nobody… STRONG threat, sex, violence etc…

DIFFERNCE IS THE USE OF STRONG.

Inspiration Why we chose 15?

We chose 15 because all our inspirations are of the same age rating.

There is a difference between films such as Prom night and Saw as Saw description ‘strong threat’ where as ‘Prom night has moderate and mild’ descriptions.

What do they all have in common?

They are all very new directors, meaning they have different takes on things.

They are all generally in the Horror sector.

They have used this hand-held style of film, apart from Nelson McCormick.

They all have younger actors in their works.

Why is their work inspiration?

1.Same style2.Fit our conventions, i.e. Supernatural Horror.3.Employ a young cast, appeal to the younger generations.
