How does your media product represent particular social group?

‘’Representation’’

How a person, group, social group or brand is FLITERED to send specific messages

to audience.Representations are

CONSTRUCTED to INCLUDE and EXCLUDE different

groups of people.

Mode of address:I used an informal mode of address and sometimes colloquial language , language that it is easily understood by the target audience.

IDEAL READER:My star represents the ideal reader with the use of make an scene. Her makeup and hairstyle connote an old school, glamouros style.

To appeal to the correct TARGET AUDIENCE, my star would have to represent an idealised version of the reader. In order to appeal to as many consumers as possible, the star must appear mainstream and nonthreatening. The cover star has to arouses the curiosity and sympathy of the readers. My target audience would ASPIRE to be like her. The social group that is representing by my magazine is from a social class B/C, race white as my production’s protagonist is white and also because my production has no black characters. The age of people who would buy my magazine would range from 14 to 29 mostly females as the females target audience would: -enjoy socializing, gossips and parting with friends.

Direct eye contact with the audience

Neutral facial expresion

Make-up and hair inspired from the late 30’s

Delicate lace shirt and small accessories.

Demure body language she is posing for the camera

But tattoos show that she has a subversive side

Massive ring stating the word bad = good

girl gone bad

Seductive posses representing a sexualized image that is very common to attract the male audience

COVER STAR: In all the photographs of my star, I tried to make sure she would be APSIRATIONAL for the readers. She is the same age and gender as my IDEAL READER, therefore would attract the TARGET AUDIENCE. The mise en scene of the star represents a slightly cotroversional figure , a young lady that wants to keep an old look.
