This graph and information was from two different sources and this tells us what the main stresses are from teenagers in the UK. This helps us to understand the issues faced by teens and what we can investigate in our documentary, and also what we can ask in our interviews to gain more information and guidance to help us. Here, we can address the issues in more detail and focus on these topics in our documentary.

These websites summarise the effects of stress and how to help combat it, we could include this is in our documentary, so we could give advice for teenagers on how to be happier. These websites are professional medical help websites that would give useful information to our audience. The things include exercise and relaxation time and this may be confirmed also in our interviews.

This statistic is from 2 different websites, highlighting the fact that life is harder now for teenagers than it was before, and even older generations may agree with this. 68% of all those questioned believe today’s generation are forced to endure more hardship, thus leading to a rise in pressure in teenagers and mental health issues, in which we will explore in the documentary. We could use this statistic as a opening title to show immediately what we are going to be talking about.

This also suggests that teenagers are more unhappy due to the amount of hardship they have to occur.

This article from the independent shows the importance of education, and this is done to signify why there may be so much pressure on teenagers. In contrast, this article also suggests that grades aren’t that impressive and only means that the student is able to please others. Whereas the grade may not be an achievement for themselves.

This source from the official NSPCC website shows how many children called the child line helpline in order to gain counselling about exam stress. As exams are more important now than they used to be, the pressure mounting on students to do well in the them has increased a huge amount, thus leading to them needing counselling and help. These statistics have come from two different websites in order to validate the information, as if it is on two different websites, it is more likely to be true as they, also would have to check their sources.

This research tells us how the behaviours of teenagers has deteriorated over the past 25 years or so. This can also helps us to determine the increase in anti social behaviours which may have been for different reasons, one might be the increase in pressures for teenagers or the society now that may think this is more acceptable now than it used to be. The age that the statistics go back are around the same age our parents were when they were around the teen age and therefore would be a useful statistic to use when talking about strains throughout teenage-hood throughout the generations.
