Which one of the characters would make a good friend? Explain why you would pick them as a good friend. Give specific examples from the story.I would like to have Fred as my good friend. Fred is always funny and he is very intelligent. He is good in keeping secrets, so you can trust him. He gives good advices when you have an problem. Fred is very smart with computers. Examples from de story: Jess needs to send a photo to her French exchange partner, she thinks her

photo’s are ugly: Fred creates a whole new photo without Jess’s spots, plump up her lips and add a sparkle in her eye.

Jess meets her exchange partner, Edouard, he is little and he has a very big crush on Jess. So jess says to Fred: ‘try and look please to see me, from now we‘re officially going out together’, ‘ Do this one little thing for me, then win an Oscar!’ and Fred helps her again.

5 points E:If you could give any character in the novel a present to help them in the story what would you give them and why? Explain using details from the story how this would help the character.I would give all of the characters a raincoat. They are camping and it is raining cats and dogs. Because of the bad weather they decided to go home earlier. They were not prepared on rainy and cold weather.

10 points B:Write a letter to the author explaining your thoughts about the novel. What you liked, what you did not like and how you connected to the characters in the novel.

Dear Mrs. Limb,

My name is Lisanne Haak from the Netherlands. I had to make a book assignment and I choose one of your books (Girls 15, Flirting For England).I never read a book from you but after I read this one I will read more books from you. This book was funny, fascinating and it was quite familiar. I sympathized with Jess, I liked Fred, I felt sorry for Edouard, I didn’t liked Gerald.Even though I needed to go to sleep, I wanted to read more, so I read it secretly in my bed. The only thing I liked Jess was the many pages of the book (320 pages!). But I loved to read it!

Kind regards,Lisanne Haak

Jess: Hello.I: How are you?Jess: Fine but I am tired after this whole project, now I want to sleep and do nothing at all.I: I want to ask you a few questions; The first one: Who is your best friend?Jess: uhm, that’s not an easy question, Flora is my best friend but also Fred.I: Do you miss a brother or sister? Jess: no, it is oke. I got my friends.I: Do you have pets?Jess: No, which is a major tragedy. I always wanted a pet.I: Who is more strict , your father of your mother?Jess: My mother, because I live with my mother, I only do nice things with my father.I: Are you in love?Jess: Maybe…. But I don’t tell you, it’s my secret!I: What do you think of Ben Jones?Jess: well, he is the captain of the school football team, he looked in tip-top shape. I like him a lot.I: What do you love more: Camping or staying at your dad’s place?Jess: I prefer staying at my dad’s house, he lives in Hollywood, by the sea. I see him not often so I like to go to my dad.I: Are you always honest?Jess: I am honest but sometimes I don’t say anything because I don’t want to upset my friends.I: What do you think of Gerard?Jess: Gerard is a flirt and a time-wasting womanizer!I: Is Flora mad because you didn’t say anything about Gerard?Jess: No, she understands that I didn’t say that Gerard was flirting with me because I didn’t want to upset her. I: Do you regret how you treated Edouard?Jess: yes, because Edouard gave me and my mother a nice present and at the end of the 2 weeks they shared food and playing computer games. We were getting along OK these days.I: Did you get in touch after the exchange-project with Edouard?Jess: yes, we are chatting a lot.I: Are you going to France next year for the exchange-project?Jess: yes, I am looking forward to see all my new friends.I: Thank you for this interviewJess: You’re welcome.
