RationaleThe mission of the library media program is to ensure that all students and staff are effective users of ideas and information (AASL, 2009) and to also promote and support reading as the key to all learning (Kronowitz, 2008).Budget Priorities Support Georgia Performance Based Standards/CommonCore Objectives/STEM/PBL Support student achievement objectives SLOs & CDAs Continue to purchase ebooks/books that support curriculum and GPS/Common Core Continue updating and creating an attractive setting in the media center Encourage reading! Adding and increasing professional resources Increasing fiction/nonfiction titles in our collectionService Priorities Provide a comfortable, inviting media center by making it inviting and attractive and conducive to learning Plan collaboratively with teachers to integrate information literary skills into instruction Promote books and the love of reading through increased circulation of fiction and non-fiction Provide various media displays to encourage/motivate student circulation Inform patrons and faculty of new materials and services throughout the year Provide and instruct students on the use of a variety of print and electronic resources Inform staff of the 21st Century technology equipment to be purchased in the future (SPLOST) Assist and instruct students with integration of technology to prepare them for 21st century learning- BYOT Facilitate in-service training for new technology or other requested services (Share Session?) Facilitate projects requested by Admin (Student IDs, TKES Student Surveys, Health Surveys, ParentLink, Flex, Infinite Campus, Technology Inventory, Title 1 Inventory, Online Testing, Maintaining Technology devices, etc. ) Support/Empower Reading Bowl Team to compete in all major tournaments-(2013 State Champs) Assist Administration by completing requested tasks
