Medicall 2014 POST SHOWREPORT

After the successful show last August, Medicall has grown considerably in terms of quality and quantity. The exhibition has maintained its position as one ofthe largest and best attended medical shows in India.

In this 12th edition of Medicall held in August 2014, approximately 630 companies from across the globe participated in the exhibition utilising the entire two halls of the Chennai Trade Centre along with more stalls in ahanger outside as Hall 3. Most of the exhibitors substantially increased the size of their stall and showcased more products during the 3 day exhibition. It was a true bazaar for hospital equipments and supplies, ranging from surgical gloves to the most sophisticated medical equipment used world wide.

The show attracted Local, Regional and International visitors which summed up to almost 10500 people. Compared to the Medicall which was held last August 2013, there was a significant increase of 30% in the number of visitors this year.

Other shows and seminars also took place alongside the exhibition, which provided as an attractive highlight in the event.

The expo was started eight years back with the idea of bringing in all the requirements of a hospital under one roof.

the show both nationally and internationally. Medicall did new innovative online

marketing campaigns in Google Ad words. Different helpful Blogs were created

which gave Medicall a wider reach. Social Media like Linkedln and Twitter were

also used to attract quality visitors. Local & International Visits to Healthcare Shows:

shows and conferences to do promotions.

Direct Marketing:A Brochure (Doctor Brochure) is sent by courier 4 times a year to more than

85,000 professionals. The Brochure containes details and updates on the Medi-

call Exhibition, Brain storm Medicall conferences and Innovation Awards etc.

Email Campaign:Last year a new innovative email campaign strategy was planned and is still

executed successfully. Weekly emails are sent to over 300,000 professionals. It is

helpful for the campaign to be segmented and designed accordingly.

SMS Campaign:Updates and reminders about the show will be sent to more than 100,000

PR and Print Media:

Press Conferences were organised both pre and post the show. Medicall had an

extensive Print Media Campaigns covering Pan India.

Other promotions like Buyer's wish list, Scratch & Win coupons for the visitors

and delegates were a valuable addition and they encouraged more and more

visitors to visit Medicall.

The entire process of selection was done diligently, independently and objectively. The three jury members who initially screened and shortlisted the entries did it based on standard application forms. For substantiation they claimed documentary proof and external or commercial validation and validated their shortlists independently. The jury's shortlist was consolidated by a software and the final shortlist of 16 was announced.

The finalist made presentations for a duration of 15 minutes each demonstrating their innovation providing proof of concept, with testimonials from reputed independent institutions, patent office etc. At the end of the presentation, the jury came up with the winners.
