GRTI holds a monthly technology class, known as “Duncan’s Digital Laboratory”, at our office on the second Wednesday of each month. We can also take our class on the road and host it at a service center near you!

A group of elders from Casa Blanca gathered at their local Elder’s Center to learn about today’s smart devices, virus and

spyware protection, GRTI fiber-optics, and our new GigaCenters.

Attendees were introduced to useful smart home devices such as doorbells, home monitoring cameras, personal assistant’s, televisions, and more. We also discussed the need for a fast and reliable Internet connection to power these devices and smart devices of the future. By installing

fiber technology throughout Gila River, we are preparing the community for whatever technology the future brings.

If your group would like to have Duncan’s Digital Laboratory brought to your district, you can make your request by contacting Duncan Wiston at (520) 796-8843.

GRTI Career Opportunities

Iwo Jima Flag Raising Parade

For years, your landline telephone would allow you to place calls during a power outage. Today, if your residential telephone service is provided using fiber optics it requires a backup battery during a power outage.

GRTI currently provides an 8-hour standby time of backup battery to you at no cost. This avoids

disruption of phone service and allows you the ability to connect to 911 emergency services. If you require a battery back-up with a longer standby time please call GRTI to inquire about the 24-hour standby battery back-up.

Please note, the battery back-up does not support your Internet service. You will also need a

corded phone since a cordless phone requires power. Please contact GRTI if you have additional questions.

Theresa looks forward to beginning her retirement by moving into her newly constructed home in District 4. There, she plans to focus on personal passion projects such as learning new cooking recipes, sewing activities, and spending time with her grandchildren. After getting comfortable in her new home, she and her husband intend on planning road trips to historical sites around the country.

When asked what she will miss most about Gila River Telecommunications, Theresa stated that she will miss the friendships that were developed with her coworkers over the years. She is happy to see her fellow employees continuing to grow and learn more about their respective positions.

Thank you for your years of work with GRTI.
