DEAN HENDRICKSON’S WELCOME
SATURDAY, JANUARY 28, 2017
During the Interview Day, admitted students experience fi rst hand the networking and business connections available to Heider Business students when they meet with Heider faculty, alumni and current students to interview for the Heider Fellows Program, Scott Scholars and Scott Fellows scholarships. The Heider Fellows Program, a four-year honors program, includes two distinct opportunities: Dean’s Fellows and Business Research Fellows. The Dean’s Fellows
track delivers a premier set of experiences that integrate the business world into academic life and fosters a community of high-achieving business leaders. The Business Research Fellows track links the academic focus of exceptional students with self-directed research in business and public policy through enhanced analytical, writing and research skills. Scott Scholars and Scott Fellows are the most selective scholarship designations awarded in the Heider College of Business.
SUNDAY, JANUARY 29, 2017
As a college in a Jesuit university, the Heider College of Business develops ethical and socially responsible business leaders. Admitted students gain insights to the Heider classroom during the Scholarship Competition through an ethics case study. Split into groups with confl icting perspectives, students will evaluate their opposing points of view and work within
their group to develop resolutions to an ethical dilemma. The competition culminates with each group presenting its stance to a panel of judges. From here, the Heider College awards academic scholarships that recognize students for exceptional service accomplishments – Ethics & Social Responsibility – and leadership aptitude – the Christina M. Hixson Scholarship in Business.
