Meet the Isilo Steel Team the people who make it happen everyday COLLEEN COMMONS Management Consultant Colleen has 20 years’ experience in the steel and manufacturing industry. She has held various roles over this time – primarily on the Commercial (Buying & Sales) and Supply Chain of business. Her experience includes production planning, procurement, logistics, and imports, strategic sales, B-BBEE, leadership and strategy. Colleen played a pivotal role in setting up Isilo Steel and continues to mentor the team with her exceptional management skills MICHAEL PERIMAL Director Michael is established with 15 years of commercial experience within the Steel Industry. The foundation of his career originated with Highveld Steel, where he held various leadership roles. His expertise within the Steel Industry emanates from his extensive exposure to commercial management coupled with a strong leadership profile. His proficiency in the steel industry expanded, with his experience gained within the trading environment of BSI steel. Michael’s aptitude has led to his appointment as a Director of Isilo steel, where he now shares the mantle of leadership with the executive committee. PRANESH SEWRAJ Operations Manager Pranesh’ s career spans from 2004 where he was briefly employed by an OEM rotational moulding plastic company in Pietermaritzburg, before moving to an international industrial rubber manufacturer in Howick. He then joined the steel industry in 2006, in a junior role whilst working towards his BBA Degree at the University of Kwazulu Natal. Today he leads a team of experienced supply chain professionals who are dedicated in what they do and committed to customer satisfaction. Quote from Pranesh: “We are able to adapt to the fast ever changing environment that is required to keep ahead of the pack”. TSEBO NGEMA Business Development Specialist Tsebo is a Business Development Specialist, responsible for identifying potential business and sustaining current business. In the steel Industry, pricing alone contributes very little to the success and differentiation of any business. The Isilo Steel Business Development Team promotes service excellence, interacting constantly with clients to hear their needs and have them aligned with the values and goals of Isilo Steel (Pty) Ltd. Tsebo has been in the Steel Industry for 6 years having started as a Business Admin Intern in 2012, later moving into a Sales and Customer Care Coordinator role, and has grown from there. Holding a BSc and Postgraduate Diploma in Management, Tsebo is currently a BCom Honours Student in Business Science. Isilo Steel (Pty) Ltd is founded on the slogan “Sustainable development through growth” and Tsebo alongside the entire Isilo team, is committed to growing himself and having this parallel to the growth of the company and the company’s primary stakeholder.

ANGELIQUE VISSER HVSC Coordinator & Product Specia l is t Angelique has over 9 years of experience working in the steel industry. Previously she started at an Engineering company as a receptionist, handling

administration functions and was a buyer for non-stocked items. She then started at BSI Steel in 2009 as a Receptionist and was then recruited to their Exports

department where her main duties were administration and assisting the Exports in their planning. Her role expanded and she was promoted to Supply Chain

administrator. In 2011 she was transferred to the Supply Chain High Volume department. She successfully managed key accounts and also did the buying for

the customers. Currently she is working at Isilo Steel and her position remains as a High volume strategic customer coordinator & she is also the flat steel Hot

Rolled product specialist where she manages the group’s stock levels.

SANDRA VENTER HVSC Coordinator & Product Specia l is tSandra has been in the steel industry for 14 years. She started off at Stewarts and Lloyds as a receptionist for a year. She then moved to Pro Roof

Steel Merchants as an Exports Administrator for 6 years. She started at BSI Steel on 1 August 2011 in the Roofing Department as support for External

sales and did the buying and receipting of stock and logistics planning. She was then appointed HVSC Coordinator & Product Specialist at Isilo Steel

where she is the plate product specialist and manages the stock levels for the group. After matric she studied at the Technical College where she

earned her N4 – N6 Diploma in Office Practice.

LEANDRA VAN DER RYST HVSC Coordinator & Product Specia l is tLeandra has over 12 years of experience working in the steel industry. Her career started at a profile steel company as a receptionist and further

progressed as an area manager where she managed several accounts. She then started at BSI Steel in 2009 as internal sales. She now works at Isilo

Steel as a High volume strategic customer coordinator & she is also the long steel product specialist where she manages the stock levels for the group.

Leandra also holds a Diploma in management assistant.

WELLINGTON MNTAMBO Product Specia l is t / Outsourced Product ion Wellington has over 18 years working experience in the steel industry. It all started in March 2000 when he joined Discount Steel CC (now known as BSI

Steel) as a stock receiver. In June 2001 he was promoted to Sales Coordinator/Junior Buyer. From 2011 he became a Product Specialist /Outsourced

Production till present (he now performs this function at Isilo Steel). Wellington matriculated in 1992 and in 1996 he obtain his National Diploma in Cost

and Management Accounting. He received his Practical work experience as C.A.T.S trainee at Lubrizol SA (PTY) LTD from 1997 to 1998.

EVELYN MOKEBE Junior Product Specia l is t Evelyn serves as a Junior Product Specialist, she is responsible for procurement of Tubing, Forecasting for Lip channel and maintaining stock levels

on these products. She holds two qualifications: National Diploma in Logistics and BTech Degree in Logistics Management. She obtained both her

qualifications at the University of Johannesburg. Prior to joining Isilo Steel she worked at BSI Steel as supply chain intern. She was then made permanent

and served as a Junior Supply Chain Administrator where she was responsible for maintaining strong internal and external relationships, assisting with all

aspects of long product range within the group. She has two years’ experience in the steel industry holding different positions.

RICHAEL PHALANE Supply Chain InternRichael has been in employment at Isilo Steel (Pty) Ltd since March 2018. Prior to this she had approached Isilo for an opportunity to further her

studies while getting experience in the admin space. Colleen saw the potential that Richael possessed and offered her a learnership position within

the company. Apart from being mentored and guided by experienced professionals in the supply chain team, Richael has been enrolled in a Business

Administration Course (NQF Level 3) which is funded by Isilo. This course consists of 7 modules which will no doubt help Richael progress her career

to the next level.
