MEETS AND CONFERENCES A RASHTRIYA VYAKHYANMALA entitled “Vision of Mahamana Madan Mohan

Malviyaji for Pharmacy Education in India” was organized on 3rd December 2012 in

continuation of celebration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviyaji.

The Rashtriya Vyakhanmala organized by School of Pharmacy, DAVV, Indore was presided by

Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. D. P. Singh. The Guest of Honor was Prof. Sushant Shrivastava,

Prof. of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering, Institute of

Engineering and Technology, BHU, Varanasi and Chief Guest was Prof. V. R. Sinha, Professor

and Chairperson, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Punjab University,

Chandigarh. Welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Head of Department, School

of Pharmacy, DAVV, Indore. In this event highly technical and professional individuals from

the pharmacy field had participated. Prof. Sushant Shrivastava in technical session has provided

insight of drug abuse and its prevalence in Indian society through a documentary film. He

discussed about the problem of drug addiction among the youngsters and its detrimental effects

on individual life. Prof. V. R. Sinha delivered an informative speech about drug delivery systems

for various routes of administration for improving efficacy, convenience and compliance.

SWAMI VIVEKANAND SAARDH SHATI PROGRAMME was organized at IMS

Auditorium, DAVV, on 12 January 2013, in memory of Swami Vivekanand. The program was

presided by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. D. P. Singh. and Prof. J. S. Rajput, Former Director,

NCERT, and Former President NCTE was invited as the Chief Guest of the function. NSS

students of School of Pharmacy attended the function.

A “SHRAMDAAN SHIVIR” was organized by NSS unit of School of Pharmacy, DAVV on

14th February 2013, where campus cleaning drive was taken by all the students and staff

members of the department. This Shivir was a part of Basant Panchmi Celebration.

SPHOORTI 2013 was organized between 28 Feb. 2013 to 2nd March 2013 by DAVV. During

this tenure, interdepartmental sports as well cultural activities were held. UTD sports association

organized cricket, Badminton, Chess, Table-Tennis and volleyball competitions. The students of

School of Pharmacy participated in Cricket, Table-Tennis, Chess, Badminton and Volleyball.

Cultural activities included inter departmental group dance, Skit and Fancy Dress competition.

Achievements:

Best Disciplined Team Trophy in Inter departmental sports competition.

Achieved 3rd Position in Inter departmental group dance competition.(The

participants were Harsha Jain, Shweta Gokhale, Minakshi Mandloi, Palak Puranik,

Himani Chouhan, Priyanka Wadhvani, Ria Chabra, Vrinda Vyas, Toshi Agrawal, Chahat

Sharma, Trupti Sharma, Akanksha Pal)

Swati Dubey was awarded 3rd Position in Fancy-Dress Competition.

A RESIDENTIAL CAMP, NSS has been organized from 13 March 2013 to 19th March 2013 at

Pariwar (AWGP)” Shanti Kunj, Haridwar at School of Pharmacy, DAVV, Indore.
