Blanford, one of the earlier zoologists to document the wildlife of the islands, was of opinion, without assigning reasons, that the Macaque was introduced on Great Nicobar where it is found. There is nothing to support this, unless it be that it is the only anthropoid primate found. Nothing supports the general belief that Macaque eats crabs either-it is habitually arboreal, and though it has been seen near the coast foraging for food at low tide, it appears by all empirical accounts, to be living off wild fruits and bananas than crabs. Mubarak Store (Hypermarket) located near Bengali Club, Port Blair by the Director, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (CS&CA) Department, Dr. Navlendra Kr. Singh, alongwith the Enforcement Team of the Department on Dec 10, 2019. During the course of inspection it was found that many provisions of Packaged Commodities Rule framed under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 were violated and accordingly samples of 41 such products were seized on the spot. The shopkeeper has violated various provisions contained in the Enforcement team of CS&CA Deptt raids Mubarak Hyper Market; books cases under Legal Metrology Act Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011 by selling the packed commodities without complete declaration as mandated. The Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department has advised all the traders and vendors of this UT dealing in pre- packed commodities, to declare all the mandated declaration as prescribed under the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011 before selling any such products and refrain from any such unfair trade practices so that any of the Rules/Laws is not violated. Further, the traders have also been advised not to sell any essential commodity in packed form without obtaining Packaging License from the Department of CS&CA. Strict action will be initiated by the Department if any trader is found violating the said Rules. The Department has also appealed to all the consumers of this UT that complaints regarding violation in weights & measures, charging in excess of MRP, tampering with MRP, etc. may be brought to notice, in writing, of the Directorate of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Port Blair. Traders asked to refrain from violating rules Sriharikota, Dec 11 Indian Space Research Organization's trusted workhorse the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle achieved a landmark today with its 50th mission lifting off successfully from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. PSLV C-48 took off into a clear sunlit sky at 1525 hrs and launched Earth Observation Satellite RISAT-2BR1 into its planned orbit 16 minutes 23.3 seconds later. The first customer satellite separated at 17 minutes 23.3 seconds and the last customer satellite at 21 minutes 16.9 seconds to complete the mission. In his address from the Mission Control Centre on the occasion, ISRO Chairman Dr. N. Sivan said, the 50th PSLV mission had successfully injected RISAT-2BR1 and nine customer satellites precisely into a 576 kilometres orbit. Another landmark was that the mission was the 75th launch from the spaceport of India- the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The bill will now be introduced in the Parliament. The bill enhances the maximum limit of fine from the existing 10 lakh rupees to one crore rupees. It also enlarges the scope of the existing Act to include regulation of all areas of Air Navigation. The amendments would fulfil the requirements of the Cabinet approves Aircraft (Amendment) Bill International Civil Aviation Organization, ICAO. This will enable the three regulatory bodies in the Civil Aviation sector in India, namely Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau to become more effective, which will lead to enhancement in the level of safety and security of aircraft operations in the country. The internationalcustomer satellites were launched under a pact with NewSpace India Limited, ISRO'scommercial arm. The first satellite in the RISAT-2B series was launched earlier thisyear to replace the ageing RISAT-2.The RISAT-2BR1 will be followed by two more satellites of the same series next yearto complete a quartet of satellites with advanced earth imaging abilities.
