ULD Storage Racking
The carriers ULD stocks in YVR are placed on roller supported racking. For RFS ULD’s our electric directional
roller lift table completes a seamless transition between trailer and carrier. Mega currently has ULD stock
computer software that allows our employees to monitor the flow of ULD’s in stock and the rotation of the ULD’s
history.
ULD Storage
ULD stock handled by Mega is on located in the restricted area adjacent to our warehouse. The cost of ULD’s out
of circulation is very expensive for the carriers. Mega recognizes the importance to maintain and properly manage
the ULD inventory. The development of ULD stock software allows our employees to monitor the quantity and
rotation of ULD’s at YVR. ULD’s that are released for transfer or under a BUP agreement are accompanied with
the proper ULD control documentation.
Digital Cameras
All damaged cargo is photographed and put in our damage claims file. Part of our procedures is to take pictures of
all arriving and departing ULD’s to enable us to verify the ULD’s condition. Since it is easy to use and very
inexpensive it has become a fixture in our daily routine.
Cargo Storage Racking
Mega has it storage racking optimized in a few different ways. All the regular imports are delegated to one import
racking area of the warehouse and are assigned to a location. All co-mat shipments are placed in the co-mat
racking area of the warehouse and are assigned a location.
All airlines have their own export holding area and further segregated by flight. Mega does not permit any of our
carriers to inspect another carries designated area. We also have separate import and export dangerous goods areas
that can be further segregated for compatibility. For small parcels we have lighter gage racking that is set up for
quick release.

The 4840 building is the closest facility with direct airside access to the main terminal. Retrieving cargo or documents
can be completed as expeditiously as possible. The main staging area for carriers is 1.3K from the warehouse. This can
decrease the chance of non compliance for time definite services. Mega currently operates at 4840 Miller road,
Warehouse doors 13-19 and consists of four dock level doors and three street level doors. This facility area consists of
26,793 SQ.FT. for warehouse floor space, 2907 SQ.FT. office mezzanine and 2918 SQ. FT. Warehouse level office
space. The total SQ. FT. for all is 24,618 SQ.FT. with additional ULD storage space in the airside restricted area. This
location has been complimented by freight forwarders in the Vancouver community who can transfer their cargo with
the use of forklifts instead of tractor trailer. The airside direct access also allows for quick transfers to OAL.

Dangerous Goods Training
Cargo Agent DG Training
Mega has fifteen cargo agents who currently retain IATA approved Cat.6 DG certification. All training material
and course instructors are under the direction of Lufthansa Cargo. Even though local training is available we
believe the Lufthansa course is the most complete DG course available. The cost for sustaining this training is
much higher than local training but after reviewing the program it was determined that Lufthansa’s supplies a
much more in depth program with better teaching practices. Training is recurrent every two years as stipulated by
Transport Canada but our staff takes part in a yearly recurrent CBT and a full instructional course every two years.
Warehouse Attendant DG Training
Mega has twenty five warehouse attendants who retain IATA approved Cat.7, 8 and 10 DG certification. All
training material and course instructors are under the direction of Lufthansa Cargo. Mega has the Lufthansa
instructors brought into Vancouver for a two day course as needed.
Scheduling of DG Staff
For the duration of a standard shift Mega ensures there are a minimum of two to four cargo agents with Cat.6 DG
certification. The warehouse attendants that participate in the build up or break down of the carrier’s flights must
have Cat.7, 8, and 10 certification. If a new employee has not yet completed their DG training they may not
participate in the handling or loading of Dangerous Goods. During a routine build up of a flight it is standard to
have a minimum of five to eight warehouse attendants with Cat.7, 8, and Cat.10 certification. The presence of
qualified staff with proper Dangerous Goods training is maintained during our daily operational hours. Our
employees display their Dangerous Goods qualifications on their company issued ID.
