Consultation will kick off in earnest in 2010, but for now, we invite you to consider the following: • What are the elements that contribute to Torquay and Jan Juc’s sense of place? How do we work to preserve them? • What makes Torquay and Jan Juc great places to live now? How do we retain these attributes? • How do we ensure that change and possible future growth contributes positively to our liveability? • How do we live in greater harmony with our region’s environment? • What services do we rely on now? What services will we need in the future? • How should Torquay and Jan Juc interact with our wider region? Should we be entirely self- sufficient or is there a sense of interdependence with the rest of the Surf Coast, Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula and beyond? • How can we live more sustainably and encourage others to do so? • What does climate change mean for our region? • How do we ensure any development contributes to the quality of life for new and existing residents? Get Involved! Surf Coast Shire will be running a detailed program of consultation from March 2010. Keep watching this page for more and keep thinking about your vision for Torquay-Jan Juc in 2040.
