Located on the Southwest Coast of Florida, North Fort Myers spans the Northern

part of Lee County. We are known for many things including friendly people and our amazing weather. Our diverse community consist of families, young professionals, retirees and offers gated and golf course communities, high rise condominiums, manufactured

homes, farms and farmland, luxury riverfront homes and "over 55" living options. We know we have some-thing for everyone.

The Chamber of Commerce is the cornerstone of business in North Ft. Myers, and we love helping businesses connect with one another. Our members have made an investment by joining the Chamber, and together we offer a strong sense of community. North Ft. Myers is poised for tremendous growth over the next few years and as the 2019 President, I am honored to work alongside our wonderful board of directors to make the most of all those opportunities. We offer many monthly networking opportunities

including a breakfast, lunch and an after hours event. We also are proud to sponsor events throughout the year to help support and strengthen our communi-ty. There is an annual calendar a few pages forward that highlights all of our events for the year. A great planning tool!

Most of our members are small business owners and we rely on you to help spread the word about our products and services. Please enjoy this business directory and make referrals to our members. If we did a great job, tell others, if not tell us. Our mem-bers are listed both categorically as well as alphabet-ically and we have included other things like a list of attractions, churches and a comprehensive phone list that may come in handy. I hope this directory serves as a reference guide for the entire year. Tuck it into a drawer for when you need something or someone. Of course, you can always call the chamber for a referral too.

I ohave lived in North Fort Myers all my life and I love our small hometown community. I believe we need to manage growth and that’s why I am very active in our community.

We are not a City, we are unincorporated so anything that happens is via a volunteer base of people pushing for change.

The Chamber & Civic Association each have appoin-tees to the NFM Community Planning panel of which I am a member. I also am happy to Chair the N Ft Myers Develop Lee task force for the Horizon Council and I have the title of past Honorary Mayor.

In recent years there has been more attention paid to North Fort Myers and for good reason. With the population approaching the magic 1 million mark for Lee County much of the land south of the river has been put to use especially large parcels that were undeveloped. N. Ft Myers is a vast mix of residential communities, commercial corridors, mobile & manufactured home communities. The north side of the river still has many large track parcels and rural areas such as in the Bayshore community. Growth is seen as both a good thing and sometimes less desirable when it affects our simple quiet neighborhoods and lifestyles.

The Community Planning Panel designated the “Town

Center” as the area between Old & New 41 from Pondella to the River. This area still has tremendous opportunities but not much has happened in recent years. To stimulate some redevelopment in this commercial corridor an incentive program was developed with $ 2 million in funds to start with. Properties as far north as Littleton road may be

eligible for matching funds and we have several parties getting ready to get moving. www.de-velopnfm.com is the website that has more info about what’s going on. There is also a great vid-eo that shows some of the potential enhance-ments we hope to see coming. I live in and work in North Fort Myers, I enjoy the small town feel but I don’t like the vacant store fronts that line our roads and we hope the incentives will spark
