TRANSCRIPT
Welcome from the President’s Pen.
If you missed the AGM, you missed Brenda Ford exciting us with her use of fabric and colour in her quilts. You would have also missed the change of the Management Committee. Lesley Warren is our new Vice-President and I have taken the role as President. Thankfully many committee members are staying on. A big thankyou goes out to Sheila and Phil for all their effort and time and invaluable contributions to the Association. They are both unstoppable. Sheila has a new role as ACQ representative and Phil will continue with Events management, the website and the blog.

QuiltWest 2016 Member Exhibition Will Proceed! Thank you to everyone who offered their help on the QuiltWest committee. We now have a full committee and the members’ exhibition as part of QuiltWest 2016 will be great.
The theme for next year is “From Little Things Big Things Grow”. Entry forms and details of the categories will be in the December Quilters Quarterly. I have made it easier to get the entry forms. The full Handbook will be available on the website or by email or posted to you on request. I look forward to many entries, beginners or experienced, so keep on quilting!

is still a bit daunting at the moment as Sharon Norquay (my talented assistant) and I learn all about the people, the activities and the logistics of running the CQ. Helpers are always needed and most welcome. Email me anytime [email protected]. Over 500 quilts are donated each year! Isn’t it great we get to spread our love of patchwork and quilting and help so many others. There are many ways you can help us:
Bring your purse and spend big at the MEMBERS’ BAZAAR CQ TABLE. Funds made will buy our desperately needed wadding.
Kits available for Christmas placements. Grab a kit (or2!) at sewing day or night and spread the Christmas cheer. Placemats are 12inches x 18inches completed, so they are quick and easy to make. Have some left over Christmas fabric? Make us a placemat. We need 100! Can you help?
Bring back any BOM you might still have.
Helpers needed!! The next Community Quilts Bee is at Alexander park Craft House on Sunday 25th October. Come and have some fun playing with fabric, finishing quilts, chatting with like minded ladies.
MELBOURNE CUP LUNCH. Who will win the sewing race this year? Who’s got the best hat? Join us on Nov 3rd at Our Lady of Fatima Hall, Palmyra. Places still available so call Lesley on 0407991047 to save your place!
I’m always looking for new BOMs so email me with any suggestions you have. Cheers Cathy. [email protected]
