Job description

Job Title: Membership Course Manager Date: October 2019 Reporting to: Head of Education & Training

Job Purpose The post holder will manage the delivery of all membership courses delivered at headquarters, branches and partners. The Membership Courses Manager will work in conjunction with the Director and Head and Quality and Delivery Manager in the effective and successful delivery and assessment of all CIArb courses leading to CIArb membership. Your role within the organisation will be to ensure student satisfaction, that courses are delivered meticulously, including in terms of tutors, venues and facilities, and that the assessment process is robust and rigorous.

Key responsibilities

• Responsibility for overseeing and managing all CIArb membership courses and assessments – the Introductions, Pathways, Accelerated Routes and Diploma programmes at headquarters, partners and, where needed, at branches

• Establishing a formal rolling programme review process for each course/module and feeding back to the Director and Head

• Leading the team in converting enquiries to enrolments • Setting the schedules for all training at headquarters and also for the centralised assessments • Ensuring that all the member course information is accurate and up to date, including on the

website, course information sheets, in brochures and also in all information held, used and disseminated by partners

• Working closely with the Quality and Partnership Team in ensuring that all parts of the competence framework and quality code that are relevant to member courses are applied

• Overseeing course Information booklets, module specifications and materials with the CIArb Member Course Consultants and Quality and Delivery Team

• Liaising and contracting faculty from the Approved Faculty List as required

• Assisting branches and partners with membership course actions • Ensuring that the Finance, CRM and Moodle systems function appropriately with respect to the

delivery of membership courses • Providing membership course data to the Director and Head for analysis • Working closely with assessment faculty, CIArb Member Course Consultants and the Quality and

Delivery Team on the assessments process • Maintaining a vibrant and collaborative relationships with other departments, particularly

Membership and Marketing, to ensure effective course promotion, conversion from student to CIArb member, and data capture from enquiries

• Managing the Membership Course Administrator

Requirements Essential

• Recognised management qualification or accreditation • Substantial experience of working in the educational sector and in the organisation and delivery of

courses • Good experience of working with Customer Relation Management, finance, Virtual Learning

Environment and other educational systems • Experience in course organisation, including enrolments, material, working with faculty, budget

creation and assessments • Experience of managing education and training provision (ideally on a gobal scale) • Good experience of implementing effective standard operating procedures pertaining to course

delivery • Experience of working with people of various cultures • Sound knowledge and understanding of professional postgraduate education and training • Sound knowledge of aligning learning outcomes, with core content development and delivery and

assessments • Managerial experience in supervising a team • Excellent individual and team ethic and bringing the best out of a group • Excellent communication, writing and IT skills, particularly with respect to maintaining data sets and

report writing Desirable

• Experience in a global membership organisation/professional association • Sound knowledge and understanding of alternative dispute resolution • Knowledge of credit regimes for different qualification bodies

Summary terms and conditions Contract: Permanent Salary: £34,000 Annual leave: 25 days holidays per annum plus UK bank holidays Pension: Minimum 8% Employer contribution with minimum 2% Employee contribution Healthcare: Company scheme subject to terms and conditions. Life assurance: Company life assurance scheme.
