PREFACE FROM THE PRESIDENTMembership is the greatest strength of any active organization and so is the case of Association of British Alumni in Nepal (ABAN). An updated Directory is thus, an essential tool to facilitate networking between members and for talent search of British alumni, which the Association provides in different fields of professional specialization for the development of Nepal.
ABAN has just completed 18 years of its formation from February 4, 1998. The membership of the Association is increasing every year. First edition of the ABAN Directory published in 2001 listed 246 members in both Ordinary and Life member categories. Second edition published in May 2005 listed 303 members including 210 Life and 92 Ordinary members. The third edition of the Directory published in June 2010 listed 388 members, including 283 Life and 105 Ordinary members. The present edition lists 401 members including 318 Life members.
Some Ordinary members have been converted into Life members and 7 of the Life members have already expired.
An alphabetical listing of ABAN members will facilitate quick search of any member, together with a detailed ID number-wise listing. Expertise-wise listing is also added to help find members on 59 different areas of specialization.
ABAN membership provides a great pool of human resource educated in UK presently engaged or available for the development of Nepal.
I urge each ABAN member to invite eligible potential members to join the Association and be active in its various activities in order to strengthen our Association.
