Volume 2013 Issue 11 - NOV 2013
Hello to all: I want to thank all of those who helped with the Steak Bake. Great Job. Special thanks to Butch and Bob for cooking the steaks. We had a huge turnout for our fall clean-up and we got everything done that we planned on doing. November is a busy month here at the Legion. We kick it off with the 60’s/70’s Dance on Saturday November 2nd. Pre-sale tickets only. The Legion helped the Onondaga North Rotary Club with “The Flags of Honor and Gratitude”. Flags will be flown in front of Great Northern Mall by Route 31 from Nov 3rd to Nov 11th with a ceremony Sunday Nov 10th at 2 PM at the Mall. Please stop by and see the display. Saturday Nov 9th is the 2013 CNY Veteran’s Parade and Expo at noon at the NYS Fairgrounds. Our Color Guard and Legion Riders will participate and as usual “STAND TALL”. We have our annual Veteran’s Day Open House on Monday Nov 11th from 2—6 PM. DJ Gary will play patriotic music so we can all relax and enjoy the day. Our Italian Fest and Turkey Raffle is Saturday Nov 16th from 1—5 PM. Please stop by and support our Legion Reminder: the Early Bird Dinner is Sunday Dec 1st from 6—8 PM. Please renew before Nov 11th to qualify for “Early Bird” status. Legion Quarters will be closed Thursday Nov 28th so our people can enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday with their families, and there will be NO FISH DINNERS on Friday Nov 29th. As you can see we have a busy month ahead of us. Hope to see you all at the Legion soon. Come in often and become an active member. Mark

Right now we are asking the people who are the closest to us, like you, to become a “Champion”, How? By asking our sup-porters to not only give, but more importantly spread the word to their family and friends.
Please join us- our veterans deserve to know how we feel
about their service and sacrifice! And feel free to contact us for
any questions.

Rest easy, sleep well my brothers (and sisters), know the line is held, your job is done. Give back in remem-
brance of the freedoms we each en-joy, every single day. Sponsor a wreath. Let no one be forgotten.
From the Chaplain:
Dear members, You are in distress when a loved one becomes ill, in-jured or passes away, that is understandable, but please let the Chaplain know as soon as possible so our Legion can take appropriate action. I check the obituaries each morn-ing, but if no mention of being Legion member, the family may think we don't care which is never the case. Please email or call Chaplain Heidenreich with information at [email protected] or 315-345-0702 / 315-458-3895. Thanks - Heidi
