Hey guys! I’m Carolyn Le, the Recording Secretary of Fountain Valley
KIWIN’S and one of the Membership Services Committee members!
Since I’m only a sophomore, I’m constantly trying to prove myself as a
leader even though I have much to learn within this organization I love
so much! My message to all the KIWIN’S members out there would be
in the form of one of my favorite quotes by Gandhi, “The best way to
find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
Hi! I’m Chris Le, the Activities Chair of Fountain Valley KIWIN’S and
also one of the members of this committee. I’m a senior so I want to
finish my time at KIWIN’S with people I love in the best way possible.
I think it’s sad to know this is my last year before us seniors leave to
find ourselves in college and split paths with some of our close friends.
What I want people to know is to have fun in your years with KIWIN’S
because before you know it, you’re graduating from high school.
Hey everyone! It’s Nikita Lee, your District Membership Services
Chair! As a senior, I have had the privilege of working alongside three
amazing and special people in this committee. They have been
working so hard and I cannot thank them enough. I also really
appreciate all the clubs that have been working hard thus far. As 2015
is beginning, let’s do even better and get pumped up for DCON!!! It
will be here before you know it!
'ello guise! Sarina here! I'm the Sapphire LTG and am part of the
membership services committee. It's been awesome to see how much
each club has accomplished these past months and I look forward to
continue working with the committee to help you guise. KEEP ON
BEING AMAZING!
Hailing from Jade Division, Richmond KIWIN'S is
one of the clubs that the committee would recognize
for their devotion and hard working spirit! They are one
of the many examples of what the committee would
consider a KIWIN’S club full of true passion and
service. Through their events such as the Susan G
Komen Walk with their very own Jade Division and
themed events such as the Halloween Decorating event
or the Haunted Hallway it was evident by their Vice
President, Antonio González’s reports that Richmond
KIWIN'S strived to be the best that they could be thus
showing exemplary spirit and service. Richmond
KIWIN’S has always been consistent with their
membership attendance as well as the amount of
events. Their innovative events keep their members
interested such as Shop with a Cop as members are
given $100 by their local police department to shop at
a mall for and with the children. We appreciate all the
hard work you’ve put in Thank you for all you’ve done
Richmond KIWIN’S members and officers!
KIWIN’S Club Recognition
From Jet Division, Fountain Valley High School
KIWIN’S is one of the many examples of what we
would consider a club full of true spirit and service.
Our committee has decided to recognize their hard-
work and dedication to our organization and show off
what they have done to make a difference in this
world. Christine Tran, Fountain Valley KIWIN’S Vice
President, has demonstrated to us the numerous
amounts of events that they have done starting from
even before club rush. They have had over 200 people
show up to their first meeting, which is amazing, and
they have done consistently well in keeping up the
excitement between members. Their KIWIN’S Week
held some fun and interesting ideas such as doing
embarrassing things like making a trailer video or
going to the extent of creating a whole K-drama
season if they collected $500 for PTP (Pediatric
Trauma Program). We really appreciate all they have
done thus far and their efforts in making such
wonderful and creative ideas to make this KIWIN’S
year successful. Thank you so much!
Susan G. Komen Walk
School: All schools in Jade Division
Division: Jade
Service: Members came out to spread the aware-
ness of the fight against breast cancer. They had
over 100+ members show up to volunteer at this
event. Just seeing the looks on the participants
after receiving a high five from a member made it
worth every hour of volunteering.
Purpose: This event is designed to promote posi-
tive awareness and education about breast cancer.
KIWIN’S Event Recognition
Renovations for the North Playground
School: Damien High School
Division: Goldstone
Service: Members came out to help build a jungle gym
at a local park, Gladstone Park. Although it was
extremely hard working as they cleared rocks, spread
out mulch/wood chips numerous times, rolled out
grass, and painted a wall, they did it with spirit!
Purpose: This event was developed to give back to
their community by helping them complete this long
and strenuous project. It truly embodied the service
KIWIN’S was meant to give back to the community.
Benefit Concert for ELIMINATE
School: Adolfo Camarillo High School
Division: Turquoise
Service: It was truly a group effort from all the
members who attended the event through ticket
payments, the officers who spent the time to plan
out this wonderful fundraiser, and the performers
who made the whole night extremely entertaining
and worth while.
Purpose: This event was created by the officers to
raise money for Project ELIMINATE as they raised
over $1000 dollars on that one night.
KIWIN’S Week KIWIN’S Week was a time
where officers and members
were able to spread the word
about what KIWIN’S stands for
as an organization and recruit
new members through their
amazing spirit!
Some clubs like Glen A. Wilson
KIWIN’S from Goldstone
Division used posters to
spread the word about our
Governor’s Project
ELIMINATE!
Other clubs such as La Quinta
KIWIN’S from Jet Division
expressed their ohana through
fun photo opportunities at their
meetings with a friend they
brought!
Jade Division’s Oakland
KIWIN’S treated their Key
Players with cupcakes and
personalized mugs as a way to
recognize their hard work and
devotion!
Fall Rally
What was the most memorable
event of Fall Rally?
The most memorable event happened the day after the rally, when it actually
hit me that I'll never be going to a fall rally again. Fall rally went by so quickly
and I might have taken it for granted, and now it's gone. Only DCON is left.
- TJ Jose, Turquoise Divisional Spirit Leader from Adolfo Camarillo KIWIN’S
The most memorable event of Fall Rally South would have to be the divi-
sion cheers because they show the strength in the bond that was created
and will let people know that we are one family, one mission, one word.
- Don Poyaoan, Emerald Division General Member of Otay Ranch KIWIN'S
I think my most memorable event of Fall Rally South was the whole rally itself.
It was really fun getting the chance to bond with all of the KIWIN’Sners in our
district while having little competitions like cheering, penny wars, and the ice
breakers. I liked how all the divisions were so spirited and decked out and KI-
WIN’S gear and it would never be a sight to forget. I loved how at the end of
the day, despite being in different divisions, we all came together to raise mon-
ey and support for Pediatric Trauma Program and got to spend time together
as a KIWIN'S ohana. - Shawndy Saephan, Jade Division Club Treasurer of
Richmond KIWIN’S
I'd say it's between the spirit battles (that each division created on-the-spot)
and the speeches at the beginning. - Ansel Deng, Goldstone Division Spirit
Committee Member of Glen A. Wilson KIWIN’S
Well the most memorable thing about Fall Rally North is probably the rally
itself, everyone was so spirited and welcoming. - Malie Chow, Jade
Division General Member of Richmond KIWIN’S
The most memorable event of Fall Rally South was seeing every division
having fun and getting to know one another. - Charlie Truong, Jet Division General Member of Fountain Valley KIWIN'S
Fall Rally North Lincoln Park
November 1st, 2014
Though it was a smaller rally, every
division had an immense passion for
KIWIN’S as Jade Division won the spirit
stick!
We raised $707.00 for Pediatric Trauma
Program!
If you’re missing Fall Rally, remember
there’s always District Convention!
Fall Rally South Maxwell Park
November 22nd, 2014
Even though each division showed remarkable spirit, congratulations to
Goldstone Division for winning the
spirit stick!
We raised $11,261.82 for Pediatric
Trauma Program!
Stay awesome and keep up the service
KIWIN’S!
