Dear Parents,

After getting the Wrapping Paper and Cookie Dough delivered, and getting Report Cards home and Parent Conferences completed, I do believe we actually have a fairly quiet week this week! Our kindergarteners are going to the zoo on Thursday as Zoologists to classify animals

by their shared characteristics! This is just one example of the excellent science experiences that Holy Trinity children are having weekly! As I walk through the classrooms, I see incredible learning in all subjects in classrooms with beautiful bulletin boards and wonderful examples of student learning in their work on display!

Lego League We are ready to begin our new venture! The materials arrived last week; therewill be a coaches’ meeting on Thursday evening at 6:00 PM in the school, and sessions will start next week!

Holy Trinity School Hosts Catholic High Schools On Thursday, November 14, Holy Trinity School will have five Catholic High Schools present information about their programs and the testing/registration process. Mary Star of the Sea, Bishop Montgomery, Loyola (all boys), St. John Bosco (all boys), and St. Joseph's (all girls) high schools will each present their information three different times, beginning at 7:00 PM, then 7:30, and 8:00 PM. All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students and their parents are invited. Presentations begin at 7:00 PM in the Middle School classrooms.

High School Applications It is also that time of year when high school applications will become due. Parents, please make sure you fill out all the forms completely with student’s name, name of school, etc. when you turn them in. Forms go to numerous people, so your student’s name must be on each form. Also, we must have all materials in by OUR deadlines in order to have time to process your child’s application. Nine pages of information on your student go into each application. It takes time to coordinate, fill out, and copy. Late requests will not be processed.

Do You Know What Your Child Is Posting on Social Media? A posting by one of our students was brought to my attention this week. It was filthy! A disturbing thought is that 20 others “Liked” it! Some of these children were as young as 4th graders. Believe me, 4th graders should not be reading filth like this!! I tell you this so you know how important it is for you to monitor what your children are doing on the computer!

Winter Uniform Thanksgiving is fast approaching and I want to remind you that students wear winter uniforms starting Dec. 2. I see some wearing them now on cooler mornings, which is a good thing!

Fundraisers The Mixed Bag fundraiser, which is an optional fundraiser, is currently happening. All orders are due November 26. Then, since we have this one with great gifts for the ladies, we are going to do a quick one-week fundraiser for the guys (again, optional). This is a Spirit Cup with 3D animation made of durable plastic. They come in all 32 National Football Teams, all 30 Major League Baseball Clubs, over 90 top colleges, and five branches of the U.S. Military. We will have to do a quick turn-around on this, but I wanted to offer the opportunity for Christmas gifts. Brochures will go home on November 19 and will be due back on the 26th.

Attention All Parents October 31st was the cut off for your half-way point in your Fundraising. If you did not reach your half-way point, your family will receive a bill on November 18th, this bill is due upon receipt. A $20.00 Late Fee will be added if not paid on or before December 2nd. Many parents are calling in reference to the $10.00 Field Trip Charge…This was for the on site Lego Presentation, we charged all students for this presentation, with the exception of Kindergarten. Also, you may view what your charges are by logging into your Fast Direct Account, just follow the instructions and it will explain each charge. San Pedro Christmas ParadeSunday, December 1st at 1:00pm

Holy Trinity is sponsoring an entry again this year in the parade. Let's show our Charger Pride to the whole community. All students who would like to participate in the parade are welcome! The parade starts at 1:00pm, but lineup is approx. 12:15pm. Please dress in Charger gear or HT sports uniforms. If you are not currently playing a sport but would like to help us showcase the many activities we have at our school, let us know and we would be happy to provide you with a uniform for the parade.

We are also in need of a few parents to participate as well. This is a great way to kick off the holiday season, get some exercise, and earn some volunteer hours!
