On Thursday December 5th, Sergeant First Class Aaron Schmidt and
Private Brennen Gumbert were in Mr. Stutzman’s classes with their
PAC-Bot explosives robot. Private Gumbert is a Senior at Memorial
and is currently enlisted as a Construction Engineer in the U.S. Army
Reserve, 327th stationed out of Onalaska. They were demonstrating
how the robot is used to detect and remove explosive devices, as well
as broaden students’ knowledge of the different opportunities available
to them in the U.S. military. Students got a first-hand look at how the
military uses technology to protect human life and were able to see
how Private Gumbert is using the skills he has already learned even
before graduation. More pictures are on our Facebook page HERE.
