Obituary
On September 9, 2019 while surrounded by family members, the Lord
dispatched his angels of Love to beckon home to rest our beloved mother, Mrs.
Mary L. Williams. Mrs. Williams was born on April 6, 1931 in Palmyra, NC
and was the daughter of the late Mr. Charles H. and Mrs. Helen Saunders.
Mrs. Williams was a housewife who faithfully cared for all ten of her
children while her husband of over 61 years, Edward G. Williams served in
the US Navy for twenty years. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist
Church for over 31 years and served the Missionary Ministry and the
Women’s Club Ministry. She was also an active member of the Eurkea Lodge
for over 13 years.
Mrs. Williams was a loving wife and mother who absolutely was
always there for her family. She taught her children that family was first, and
should always protect, love and help each other. She would tell people that
“You can say anything you want about me, but you better not mess with my
children.” Yes, she defiantly loved her children. Mom’s house was the hangout
for the neighborhood children. A lot of them called her mom. If someone was
hungry, she would feed them. Mrs. Williams also helped to raise her
grandchildren. They knew that they could go to her for advice or anything that
they needed. She made sure that her children and grandchildren were active
in the community, sports and church. Mrs. Williams will be dearly missed by
her family and neighbors. We love you Yes, yet GOD loves you best!!! Rest in
Heaven Mother.
Mrs. Williams is preceded by her husband, Edward G. Williams Sr.;
sons, Richard C. Williams, Joseph L. Williams; great grandchild, Christopher
P. Ross.
She leaves to cherish her fondest memories her children, Helen L.

L. White, Linda L. Powell, Nancy D. Branch, Theresa A. Harris, Fredrick A.
